I personally dont use rat balls, i think it is really an insult to their intelligence, however i wouldnt go as far as saying its cruel, and if you have animals it does make some sense. They are not hamsters, and canbe trusted to roam free,espically because they are great climbers, and the ball will not let them do this. THe rat isnt scared though, if it was it would be puffed up and hissing!

My rat always plays with the cat and the dog. He likes to jump on the dog's back and then run off. He also enjoys sneaking up to the cat and giving her a little nibble; it's all in good fun.

As long as the ball is the right size and doesn't cause any stress to the animal, it's perfectly harmless.

Well this rat obviously isnt scared... he just sits there and washes himself and also runs around. If u let your rats grow up near cats and dogs they arent scared for them anymore most of the time.

I have rats tho and once bought such a ball for them too, but they hated it and didnt want to go into it.. so I just didnt use it. But this rat seems to enjoy it. :)

My rats hate the ball we bought for them, they just sat in the middle and stared at me like, "What the fuck do you want?" So I took it back, it was a big one like that so meh. I recently bought a HUGE cage, like 4'h 3'w and 2'd it has 4 floors that iv covered the wires, and it also has a huge weel for them to run on, and they do! They never stop!
