I thought Brandon R. was a great choice for Superman but the storyline sucked! One of the great movie moments was Supe catching that plane out of the sky and from there the movie tanked! We needed an ass kicking fight! Darkseid would've been a great character choice! Not a revamped version of Lex Luthor! Kevin Spacey was more creepy than anything. And Kate Bosworth came off as plain bitchy and ungrateful!

I personally loved this film. The problem people have with it I think, is that it really is just someone who loved the Christopher Reeve film, trying to make another Christopher Reeve film. As I loved the origonal, I loved the fact this is in complete homage to it. The way Brandon Routh played clarke (just like Reeve), the music, it was brilliant.
We can all agree Zach Snyders one is going to have amazing action scenes, I just hope he can pull off a good plot to go with it...

John Williams created immortal music with the Superman theme...it never fails to give me goosebumps when I listen to it...even now after 25 years since I saw the 1st original Superman with Christopher Reeve, the magic and feel is still very much alive. The music makes the man Super. I pray the Re-boot will be better than what Singer did to the legend. Brandon's cool, but the story sucked. Sorry but Bryan messed it up BIG TIME...seemed more a tribute than a movie.

Apart from the visually appealing SFX scenes, this movie is a fucking piece of shit. It completely ruined and ass raped the whole character and mythology. And Brandon Routh is arguably the worst actor I've ever seen in my fucking life. He is a weak faggot and he completely embarrassed and disgraced both Superman and Clark Kent. For me as I know for many others of my generation, Richard Donner's Superman 1 and 2 and Bryan Singer's 2006 Superman were the best movies ever made. Seeing it as an adult with brand new eyes in brand new light. I can finally recognize the esoteric symbolism and all the parallels to Christianity and Lemuria etc and other history. It is freaking spectacular. Please make the Sequel.

Truly a wasted opportunity, they could've done so much more with this movie.
Just the fact that the airplane rescue scene takes up about 15% of this trailer and it being the only action part of the movie, well, says it all.
While his acting wasn't fantastic, I still like BR as Superman and I think he will be an even better suit now, with his added age and maturity.

Very well done, perfectly fits! Brandon is the best, I wish he could be in another movie. Now I definitely won't watch the next one. Kevin Spacey as Lex was also one of the best choices Bryan made. I'm so, so sad that we won't see anything of them again...

i dont understand the money making business of making a great movie depends on peoples expectations. To be fair the SUPERMAN RETURNS is just great-how people wants to be great -greater than other movies? that is way too impossible. i just wish they continue the Superman Returns story. Actions movies way over rated. i like the story of Superman returns-light and emotional too.

i know i might get backlash for this, but here's my opinion:
superman is the most pointless hero ever for the following reasons:
-he's got to many powers to be interesting
-his suit is retarded and faggy
-the way no one can tell its him is retarded
-invincibility is stupid. not everyone in crime carries that glowing green rock, so it's pointless to try
overall i understand he's the ORIGINAL superhero, but i still think he's retarded and pointless

To be fair, he has valid points. (This is coming from a Supes fan too):
The guy wears blue spandex with his underwear on the outside and a big golden belt (that serves no purpose AFAIK).
He manages to work alongside the world's top investigative journalists - by putting on a pair of glasses. I don't care if he changes his body language too, these reporters know what Supes looks like. Putting on some specs isn't going to fool THEM, never mind the rest of the world.

@neigyl5 I don't know why; but I would bet that it has to do with his morals. The Superman of the silver screen that won the hearts of many some 30+ years ago was VERY different. Reeve's Superman wouldn't recklessly knock-up a woman then ditch her in the name of love. This movie has the same costume, same super powers, same villians, same trouble- but different morals which makes a different [inferior] Superman.

They didn't ruin it in my opinion.
You see, in Superman 2, Superman sacrified his powers in order to be able to sleep with louis lane. Otherwise his supersperms would have shot a hole in the back of louis.
But then, typical men... when he got what he wanted he took back his powers and erased Louis Lanes memory so she couldn't remember anything, leaving her knocked up without any memory of how. He then left to outerspace so she couldnt find him.
Now he's return.

John Williams created immortal music with the Superman theme...it never fails to give me goosebumps when I listen to it...even now after 25 years since I saw the 1st original Superman with Christopher Reeve, the magic and feel is still very much alive. The music makes the man Super. I pray the Re-boot will be better than what Singer did to the legend. Brandon's cool, but the story sucked. Sorry but Bryan messed it up BIG TIME...seemed more a tribute than a movie.

Apart from the visually appealing SFX scenes, this movie is a fucking piece of shit. It completely ruined and ass raped the whole character and mythology. And Brandon Routh is arguably the worst actor I've ever seen in my fucking life. He is a weak faggot and he completely embarrassed and disgraced both Superman and Clark Kent. Fuck you Brandon Routh, Fuck you Bryan Singer and Fuck you producers of Superman Returns.
PS. Christopher Reeve is the true Superman. Tom Welling comes in second place.

For me as I know for many others of my generation, Richard Donner's Superman 1 and 2 and Bryan Singer's 2006 Superman were the best movies ever made. Seeing it as an adult with brand new eyes in brand new light. I can finally recognize the esoteric symbolism and all the parallels to Christianity and Lemuria etc and other history. It is freaking spectacular. Please make the Sequel.

It's a great movie.. Plus Brandon Routh is hott... People say they don't Superman because he's basically invinsible which makes everything less fun, but he is by far the best super hero ever! When he jumps in front of bullets he knows they will not kill him. Batman on the other hand is a human, mortal and can be killed. Yet he still dives into danger anyway.
