Now with that said, it likely won't lead to anything worse if you know your dogs. The pit is half playing, though he's more serious about it. I see this in my own pit mix every day. She does the EXACT same behavior this pittie is doing when she plays tug. The pit in this vid (as well as my own dog) are being patient in the play to win the toy over, but more serious. I allow it in my dog all the time. As long as you know your dog(s) and know they won't escalate, there's nothing wrong with it, imo

Ok, first of all, the pit IS being more serious with the play. If you know dog language, it's clear as day. Raising the lip, standing stiff, staring the chow pup down. With or without the growling, those signs are saying, "I want this toy, you better give it up!". And especially at the end when the pit wins the toy, the chow goes for it again and the pit gives him a sharp growl which the chow completely understands and backs off. (cont)

First off this is obviously play and the chow is still a puppy. There's nothing wrong with what they're doing. But besides that you, a pitbull owner of all people should know the danger & ignorance of saying that certain breeds of dog are 'more aggressive' than others. That's EXACTLY how you end up with breed bans, most of which are bans on pits. I have two chows and they aren't aggressive. It depends on the owner and how they raise the dog. You didn't train aggression in your pit but others do.

So true. Chows can be pretty tough to handle, The breed is getting better since more breeders are paying attention to temperament. I would trust a pit over a chow, given my past experience. This video is just healthy play, though.
