Vietnam was not lost on a military level. Westmoreland cannot recall a single military defeat in the entirety of the war, that's because the war was lost back home. Look at the state of Somalia now after the United States left. It's time for other "superpowers" to roll up their sleeves and help out in stabilizing the world too.

It will not last much longer, because the profiteers who run the country only see immediate profit, ignoring the fact that resources on earth are not infinite. The difficulties in Iraq and Afganistan are caused by road side bombs and ambush attacks, these (for the most part) are unavoidable and don't reflect America's influence. Influence is derived (as far as the military goes) in the ability to effect states which the U.S. has the ability to do (i.e. Saddam/Taliban).
