First off, Casino Royale wasn't styled like Borne at all, and this is coming from a guy who has seen both so many times. I think Quantum of Solace was more like Borne
I completely agree with you on the whole Bourne thing. The producers of Casino Royale note the Bourne films as an influence for Casino Royale. Script-wise this may very well be the best story in the franchise but Daniel Craig isn't the best Bond. He is good but not the best.
completly disagree Casino Royale wasnt just action it had depth and a compelling connection between bond and vesper which bond has never had in other films
I did some research and if you Blu-Ray Disc player has the 6 - 7 Analogue audio outputs and onboard decoding for Dolby True HD and DTS-HD, you can still those two audio formats by using Analogue Cables.
Though, the main reason I'm not pleased is I don't like the QoS cover art, there are fewer features...
and since QoS is the sequel to CR, I'd prefer their spines match up together. Though the QoS fits in with the rest of the Bond films since the other films are released by Fox and MGM.
I think it has something to do with the deal MGM had with Sony at the time of CR and that since then they have signed a different deal with 20th Century Fox.
I do own Casino Royale on Blu-Ray it is the older version. It does look and sound really good though, But I want to get the Collectors Edition on Blu-Ray because I want to get the new Special Features. I also own The Four James Bond Ultimate Edition DVD BoxSets which look and sound pretty damn good for DVD.
Also i have another question, what is the difference between the PCM UnCompressed Audio, and Dolby True HD ?
basically PCM is a Lossless audio, it is the raw uncompressed (ie MP3/ACC/ect). Dolby True HD is basically a audio file that when decoded by your player or surround system produces a nearly identical lossless audio track...it's sort of like a zip file that is unzipped by the player or reciever...the lose is so minimal it's hard for the human ear to tell...DTS HD is similar only it produces a higher sonic range...which is basically identical to the PCM.
to get the true HD audio you will have to have HDMI input on your surround sound system. It will also have to be able to decoded The DTS or Dolby Digital if you blu-ray player can not.
Casino Royale was a good Bond film. But it sure was a long film as well. Just when you think it's going to end it goes on for about another half hour. Greaat review cerdo.

Weird how Sony didn't release Quantum of Solace.

Whats better the PCM UnCompressed Audio or the Dolby True HD Audio.
Riddler95 3 years ago
personally I would say that the PCM was a tad bit better, but not nearly enough to justify not getting the extra features on this disc.

How does DTS HD work ?
Is it uncompressed audio ?
Riddler95 3 years ago
it basically works like a Zip/RAR file. In that it when it is decoded it actually outputs audio that is sonically identical to the PCM Uncompressed.
cerdo24 3 years ago
do you need HDMI for Dolby True HD and DTS HD, or can you use the Six Analog Audio Inputs ?
Will Optical or Coaxial Cables work with the HD Audio on Blu-Ray ?

Eagle Eye? Do you mean Goldeneye?
I thought Casino Royale was one of the better Bond films in a while. IT felt like it was taking itself seriously which helped imo.
Great review cerdo. I'll have to check this out on Blu-Ray
