Speaking of the replicator in Star Trek, it would be awesome to have device (like the replicator) whicg creates food. This idea I remember from a show in the early 80's called Ark 2 or something. I must have been 7yrs old at the time it was screened on tv. I'm now 35. This woman in the show puts a rock inside a microwave looking oven, presses a button and hey presto after 10 seconds she extracts a roast chicken.

Now, imagine a device like that. Put in some protein, a lettuce, some water, ...
