@kreutzere May have been slower due to racket technology, but very enjoyable. The game of today is faster but is completely boring. Also, I'd love to see Nadal or Djokovic try and be a serve a volleyer for one round - they'd lose in straight sets inside of an hour.

You don't see 17 , 18 , 19 year old kids winning Grand Slams any more .... the last one to do so was Rafael Nadal in Roland Garros 2005. Now if you don't have a great atlethic preparation you can't compete in a good level.

I forgot, that Becker won the final in three sets. I read that Ivan Lendl laughed in the warm- up room before he played versus his opponent and he said the result from his game. But really he was shy and the pressure was on the top 10 ranked players very high.

Lendl tried everything to win this tournament, months of preparations, an own court with Wimbledon gras at home, didnt help anything. ;) But the best forehand in this game was Tiriac´s by hitting the shoulder of trainer Bosch. ;)

Faßbender war als Kommentator in Fußball und Tennis eine einzige Zumutung! Gut, dass Becker Tennis spielte zur Ablenkung ;) habe seinerzeit immer die englischen Kommentatoren auf den Sportkanälen eingeschaltet...
