idk, this video makes the video capture on the nexus look kind of "Meh" No offense to the camera guy. Check out my 1080p Galaxy Nexus video sample, if you wanna see the camcorder at its best.
so video is good but pictures suck? I want this phone but i think ill hold out til something with better battery life comes along. unless its like a 6 inch phone then fuck that.
Looks like they finally hit the right CPU. Some stabilization is welcome but it doesn't have the the wave that slower androids do because its a software capture.
Can someone tell me how to update to 4.0.2? I haven't received any update notifications ans have looked in my settings it says my GN is up to date!? 4.0.1
@SmoW1568 it's not just galaxy nexus, it's almost every phone I've seen "video samples" are like that. try searching on youtube for "1080p 60fps" from sony camera or something - you will see how smooth the video is. galaxy nexus shoud have enough processing power to do 60fps - there must be a catch somerwhere...
@MuF123 Youtube encodes at 30fps, so if any camera records in 60fps it will not show up on youtube like that no matter what. The smoothness is not in the frames but actually differs with the speed of the processor. This is one fast phone, but because of the HD res it cannot record smoothly. Wait about a year, when phones reach 2.0 dual core and you will see a 30fps 5mp camera phone outperform any 8mp phone on the market today.
@MuF123 Right! the mbit/sec rate will affect the quality too, the jellow effect is also due to the poor quality cmos sensor vs real cameras that use a ccd sensor.
Look at "ccd vs cmos" and you will a huge difference even if the fps, shutter speed, megapixels are all the same - cmos sensors are improving rapidly though.
@vwbugsforlife cannon uses cmos sensor in their dslr cameras, even those super pricey flagships, so cmos is already improved - however what I wanted you to show was the shutter speed influence.
This video is perfect. Doesnt have the wobbly effect like in the other GN 1080p samples. Does it have anything to do with the settings?

quality is quite nice but the 15fps recording sucks too much.

@MuF123 Yeah, it is a little skippy, but still good. I'll do some lower resolution samples so you guys can compare them!

@vwbugsforlife yes it doesn't have to be the fps - one video I've watched some time ago now came to my mind: watch LVS83PNexQI ...

@MuF123 Didn't know that! but yes I agree, the change in shutter speed definitely dramatically influenced the look.
