  • i wonder .... was le bon's hair washed ?

  • Man, I finally found the video :D I'm 14 as well and started listening to this band 5 years ago. These guys rock!!!

  • @JamiroValen I'm 14 also! I went to there concert earlier this year and it was amazing! They're my favorite band and I'm glad you like them too! I hope you get to see them in concert soon! :D

  • playing the fucking bass, john...

  • Seen them live last week. I'm 17 & I honestly didn't see ANYONE around the same age as me. More young people need to appreciate this band, they're awesome!

  • @OMGitsRACHO I saw them live at the age of 14... 25 YEARS AGO and I didn't see anyone the same age as me. Good music is timeless.

  • When I was a kid I thought this song was punk rock, because it talked about guns and shit.

Now, after years of music education, I no longer think it's punk rock (although the bassline still reminds of the song from Repo Man), but it still sounds awesome!

  • Actually, it is a way of playing. Slap bass.

  • Very 1981... So used to the live recordings of this song...

  • Hah HAH! Finally I've found this video. I like Simon's hair in it, it suits him. Mind you, Nick looks nice with dark hair.

  • Does anyone know who that mysterious woman is in the video? She's on the cover of this single, the reverse side of which has Fame and Khanada. I've always been curious about her identity.

  • @Bigsn13 it's Perry Haines girlfriend. Perry directed the video and was also Duran's stylist at this time.

  • @MathematiquesModern I actually just tried googling some info you offered, but didn't come up with anything about the girlfriend- just about Perry. But thank you for the info- and for sharing the vid, it's one of my favorites! :-)

  • @Bigsn13 - I don't know her name, but I know this is factual as I was informed by someone who used to work with the band.

  • @MathematiquesModern That's cool! Without divulging anything you know that's too personal, or inappropriately "gossipy", of course- might you considering adding some of that trivia you know of to the details of the vid or the band (such as what you answered to me)- to your description therein? I know I'd love that, as I'm sure would any older "Duranies" like myself! :-)

  • @Bigsn13 Don't really know what you mean? I've sort of said everything I can add to your question.

It was Perry Haines girlfriend on the sleeve and if it's the same girl in the vid. as on the sleeve…

I don't know their name. Perry had recently left St Martins (fashion journalism) - so maybe she was at St Martins. Maybe not. Why don't you try contacting the photographer - Peter Ashworth? He will probably know who she is, let me know if you get an answer?

  • @MathematiquesModern Oh I didn't mean any more about the woman- I just meant, if you were well acquainted with the person who worked with the band on the vid, perhaps there might be little tidbits of trivia you might know, just random things. Kind of like "Pop up videos", if you remember that show! But no worries- I'm fine just enjoying the video as is. Thank you for taking the time to respond, though! :-)

  • @Bigsn13 = they didn't work on the video. all I know is the video was shot in Soho. the band were not that happy with the video - there are two cuts/versions/edits of the video.

  • @MathematiquesModern I've seen both versions- the differences are quite subtle, I thought. I personally love either one. :-)

  • SEMPRE FAVOLOSI.

  • Wow, I thought I've seen every Duran Duran video. I remember this song from the concerts but I don't recall the video. I was young and living in Germany so we didn't get MTV and by the time I got back to the states it was '84/'85. Thanks for posting.

  • 너무 멋져 음악도 좋아

  • Excuse me...I am trying to find a certain video of Duran Duran and I have spent 2 hours searching for every video they made but haven't found that one...the problem is I can't remember the title of the song and I know I liked it (i like alot of their work)

The video features Simon with black hair, not too short, who s laying on a bed (i presumed it is a cell of some kind but i dont know) and he rolls on the bed and sits on it singing, i think it is eighter black&white or dark lighted. Help????

  • @Biggie032 i prety much know all of them...i have no idea...but if you find it let me know

  • @Simon4642 I started to wonder if I saw a glimpse of "come undone" and mistaken window blinds for jail cell bars or something....but I don't think so...I will try to find it once again anyway and then I will stop if I don't.

  • Can I marry all of them? (Except Andy. :P) Honestly, never seen a sexier group of men with amazing music talent. Love love LOVE Nick's keyboards in this. And John's slapping of the bass. (Instead of slapping that bass he should slap....... ;P) Lol ohhhh I love being a Duranie.

  • Gosh soo young, such a great band, I love my Duran Duran memories!!!

  • Lovely

  • espectacular...

  • I remember getting made fun of by a few dudes in middle school back when I wore a "Seven & The Ragged Tiger" tour shirt to school, but guess who every girl in the school was suddenly questioning me about the show that day! I did not then and never will have any regrets calling these guys one of all time faves.

  • @cardinaldriver Ditto! These guys were really kick ass musicians and great performers.

  • @cardinaldriver I still want that shirt. I wanted it at 5 and still want one now as a sleepshirt, My current fella hates dd with a passion. I tell him nothing about my still undying love for john taylor and deep appreciation for nick rhodes and my dream mentor that is simon and the drummer I could become like roger If I drop guitar that I did end up with like andy. I was lucky to see them as this formation when they reunited in 2003, made up for 20 years of wishing hard since 5 yrs old!

  • @cardinaldriver yup we just love them because they make great music period.

  • hey i like duranduran and i dont' care what anyone says! .... oh, nobody's saying anything. cool. well then how about this, i also like 'pet shop boys'........! how does that grab you! .... nothing? ok, ok then, how about 'snif n the tears' with 'drivers seat'? ok then, i'm outa here!

  • me 2 a DURANY till i die : )

  • muito boa

  • john's tapping on bass

is that one way of playing?

    thats been mistery

  • @cmilkvetch Yes it's called slap ass but that's not how the bass riff in this song was played at all

  • @cmilkvetch Sure, some people play bass that way; black people, often

  • @cmilkvetch Nop it's not. it was only for the purpose of videos, he did the same in the video my own way. Technically you cannot play with an open hand like he does and having a recquired sound we can ear. ciao

  • "That guy that plays bass" is John Taylor. ;)

  • I love that mohawk / mullet hair style on that guy that plays the bass..

  • the greatness of this track prob has something to due with all of the musical elements combined - you can hear john's syncopated bass line, the guitar riffs of andy, roger's rhythmic drum beats, nicks' pulsating synth beats, and simon's distinctive vocals
