Nice history lesson on the Rocketbelt/Jetpack. You did your homework I see. They are VERY expensive to build and VERY expensive to fly. Fuel costs $100per gal. I found this out first hand while building mine! Yes,it can be done and there are several others doing the same. We just got tired of waiting! We're a small group who keep the dream of personal flight alive

Toss up between two devices from the same place: The Proton Pack and the Trap. Who, as a kid, can honestly say they didn't want to run around their house with one of those sweet toy proton packs (with the NERF stream that knocked over lamps with impunity) chasing the cat to throw down the trap and slam their tiny child foot down to nab the ghost.

The best invention would be a floating sphere that shows you the level of stupidity by everybody near by. You could create stupid detectors around your city and never let someone in if the floating spheres start to react. Wouldn't that be absolutely fantastic? :-p

Best invention ever? Batman's grappling hook gun...why use stairs like a common schmuck when you can propel yourself upwards at hurtling speeds? it leaves your legs and one hand free to enjoy other activities on the way up.

My favourite part about the Martin Jetpack is the size - so compact! I can totally imagine just storing that neatly, in small places.
