His singing was a bit pitchy, but the point is that he wrote this amazing song (better than most songs on the radio) and he sang it with honesty and emotion. It's like Neil Young. Young's not a great singer, but he's written some rock classics.

With respect- you didn't use whom correctly. Whom's proper use is SO easy to remember. "Whom" is used when referring to someone you have NO idea who they may be. "Who" is proper when you would know the someone from a group. ""Who' amoung this gourp is the right choice"? vs. "Of all Americans, 'whom' would be the best choice?" Or, in this case, "Who was the jackass who didn't turn on the voice-enhancer. vs. "Whom is offended by this lack of any perceivable talent?"

Autotune is just a tool of music... Anything can be misused in this business... TRUST DAT! Remember, the sysnthesizer, the 808, the DAT machine, the kickdrum, the 'Impeach the President' beat & the talkbox which was the original autotune... @Deadbeans Autotune has been used for the past 18 years over genres branching from rock, pop, and hip-hop. in the end artists still come up with the lyrics, melody's, and beats...its there right to have it sound more pleasant to the ear.

Every time you listen to a record that was made post 1980 from a major studio has tuned the lead singers voice. Believe me I work for Full Sail University...i know how these things work....

@em3ricakilla I'm sure you do know how these things work! Bert Jansch is a good example of a real musician. Big Bill Broonzy another. Whilst there were certainly businessman involved in their lives (usually fleecing their money), they created their own image and music and had to perform it by themselves in front of people. You've probably hit upon the reason why I practically listen to nothing recorded post 1980, or by a major studio!

@em3ricakilla Yep I agree. There are some wonderful exceptions indeed. The Cure are the best band to come out of the 80s for me, for instance. But quality music played by musicians with any skill or talent is dying a slow painful death, year by year. If I turn a radio on now there's a 95% chance I'll hear an electronic voice that sounds like a psychotic hamster accompanied by music that sounds like someone putting up shelves. It needn't be that way and autotuned voices are not helping!
