I almost never use my pinky. You may have got the wrong tab but you're playing on the wrong frets in the intro ;). At least you are using octaves in the verse unlike some of the sissies trying to cover this song! One question, why strum so high? you will get a more pronounced sound if you strum at the closer to the bridge and lower pickup

Old video or not, using your pinky is just a preference. If you can play without it, fine. I don't know why people always complain and tell people to use pinkies. ALL songs can be done without the use of pinkies, it just might be more difficult.
