Its really for the band to rehurse.. work out any kinks and to make sure the sound equipment sounds like they want it to. And as a fan club member they have a drawing so members can attend..

Actually you're right and wrong MBLuvr. People win contests and all that, but here's the real deal. Soundcheck is for the FOH (Front Of House) Engineers that control the mixing console in the middle of the crowd as the show goes on. The point is, while the band plays, or in this case "rehearses", it's an opportunity for the Engineers to make all the adjustments both on stage and at the sound mixer so that the show goes as planned and sounds great!
