I laughed so hard at this video. this guy makes alot of sense. I can tell you that EVERYBODY has sounded or sounds like crap on a cell phone video. Go to Rascal Flatts singing "Good Time charlie's got the blues." (You tube) I dont know if this guy is a great singer or not, but he knows what hes talking about....period.
it's kinda like science and God science is the proof of God's work we already believed science is just the proof of our belief of God's work. I know it didn't have alot to do with what he was saying well nothing at all except the common relationship between the two things but it became apparent to me thank God lol
This is why I liked my ex-coach. His motto was 'Call it what you want, I'll make it sound good.' Unfortunately I couldn't afford lessons anymore and had to stop, but he was damn good. I'm tempted to buy singing to success, but is it worth the two hundred qiud
mmmm, agree to diagree with some things. Some times people's instict tell them that in order to hit that high note they have to press on it, pump it with there guts ( an "up-and-in" if will) and then end up supporting the sound with things like their jaw, and in some styles of music this doesnt nessasaraly sound bad, but the amount of pressure you are putting on your chords IS damaging especial since there are better ways to get the same sound that we know of b/c of things like medical backing.
I do agree with this video, but there IS some confusion between 'head voice', 'mixed voice' and 'falsetto' (chest voice is unequivocal) and different teachers use them differently which is unfortunate if you're trying to compare methods of singing.
Yes, words and terminology serve only to convey ideas. However, it's terrible when people mean different ideas through the same terms. Unfortunatelly it has been taking place in systems and among vocal coaches as well, making students quite confused. Every now and then there appears a brand new method, presenting a host of news terms, making us students struggling to grasp simple things. I think it happens, because singing is more about ART than TECHNIQUE and science.
best singing tutorial i've seen on youtube! As a self-taught singer I know that when you mean it, everything just works, and it's commendable that you take a step back from the specifics of your teachings and reaffirm what is at the bottom of it all (the soul). ill.
