I just got a dog about 2 weeks ago from the michigan humane society the BEST $125 I've ever spent!! This wasn't the first dog that i've gotten from a shelter either. She has scars on her neck, a sure sign that she's had a bad history, she is so loving and funny!! She's still getting used to her new freedoms they told us she was the dog that had been in there the longest out of them all. We've only had her for a couple of weeks, but now I couldn't imagine life without her!!

my dad once saved a dog also a labrador

a when my dad has a break at work he goes to a bakery store to buy some food to eat he would always see this dog next to the bakery store she had collar around her neck he thought that she is waiting for her owner but after a week she was still there so he asked about the dog and he heard that his owners died or either someone left her funny thing is the dog willingly came with him and jumped into the car he didn't make her do it XD

At about 7:30 I had a really hard time keeping it together. Dang you Sign543 :)

I've always hoped that someday when I have my own place that I'll be able to be an animal foster mom.

I rescued my Suzie directly from an abusive home. They really tortured and neglected this little dog, and cuz of that she had major trust and aggression issues. I was afraid that if they took her to the pound she would have ended up dead. Now she's my best friend and star of my Suzie Adventures <3 XD

@sign543 Sorry Tony, Over here people who are ill go to a Doctor, If he can't fix you then you go to see a consultant surgeon. (can't get any higher).

If your pets ill, You take it to a veterinary surgeon. If I took a dog to a Doctor over here, he would not be amused.

You wouldn't be allowed unless it was a guide dog, hearing dog, or working dog for the disabled to take a dog into any doctors surgery, The health risks to the patients waiting to see the doctor would be to much of a risk,

@paul1967uk Paul, a veterinarian IS a doctor. An "animal" doctor. They do for animals what human doctors do for humans. They just specialize in animals. Is a pediatrician not a "Doctor"? Of course, not. Do you not consider veterinarians...animal doctors? In the UK, professionally speaking, vets are referred to as Veterinary Surgeons. Only a DOCTOR can perform surgery.

A Consultant Surgeon is much higher than a Doctor. Now if you were about to go into the operating theatre and the name badge on the guy doing the surgery says " Dr ??" then do not trust him, he is NOT QUALIFIED. If it says Mr ?? then he is qualified. Once a Dr as trained as a surgeon he throws away the name Doctor and is refered to as Mr.

@sign543 CONT.. A vet is a Veterinary Surgeon.... And is never refered to as Dr, They are refered to as Mr or Mrs or Miss. followed by there surname. The same for humans, if you have say infection, you see your doctor, if you need a operation in hospital a Dr does NOT perform the operation. A consultant Surgeon does so.

lets say you break your leg badly, you dont want a doctor, you want a Consultant orphopedic Surgeon. So you'll see MR ????? Consultant orphopedic Surgeon.

This is a wonderful story! I have two Cats rescued from a shelter myself. Many people have to move and can't afford the new Pet deposit, so many are just left behind! I think these fees should be lowered and there would be far lass strays!

Lillian is an Angel and Lara is so darn cute! I have four Cats in an apartment in Texas. I am only allowed three! If they discovered the four one I could be thrown out on the streets within days! Laws need to change for animal rights! Thanks!

what a wonderful story! I knew the minute she said she thought the dog was a sharpei because her face was hanging down that there was a possible thyroid problem because my partner's lab had the same appearance - after a month on the right meds she was a different and very happy dog. Sadly she died a year later after we found she had bone cancer. We won't get another pedigree/ over-bred dog again. So happy Lara is having a good healthy life with love! Thanks for sharing Tony. xox
