  • welcome home , bill !! a lesser man would have never stepped on that field !

  • Booing Dwight Evans? Stay classy, Boston.

  • @jasonmoyer

They were chanting Dewey.....Stay classy, idiot.

  • How about Calvin Schiraldi's 4 consecutive hits...then Bob Stanley throws a WILD PITCH...that Rich Gedman let get by him all the way to the backstop...Sox should have won that game...it shouldn't have come down to Bill Buckner...get off his ass...he was a terrific player...

  • bill buckner works for the red sox as the manager of the brockton rox.

  • I think bill buckner should punch dan shaughnessy he's the one who stirred up all this with his curse of the bambino crap.

  • After two world championships. This guy was release from purgotory. Not so much the fans and I will always be a Sox fan and I remembering watching game six on a Saturday night by myself and actually being sober just so I can watch a world series winner but also getting the feeling as the game started something wasn't going to end well.I just bypassed it and knew Buckner wasn't the reason why the game didn't end well.If they didn't win one.Buckner would always be a big reason why were there.

  • How bout a web redemption for Bill Buckner.

  • BOB STANLEY GOT AWAY WITH MURDER JUST LIKE O.J. DID!!!!!!

  • "In 1986, Sports Illustrated reported that the crowd that greeted the Red Sox after they lost the Series to the Mets gave a special ovation for Bill Buckner. Instead of blaming him for blowing the Series, they saluted him for his part in getting the team as far as it did. To me, that's class."

This is and always was the media's doing, not the fans'.

  • Why dont people hate bob stanley for his wild pitch that let the mets tie the game?

  • FACKIN' BUCKNAH THA SCURGE OF PATS SAWX NATION! NO ONE DENIES THIS!

  • @gene7887 ? what the hell did you just try to state?

  • I don't care the 1986 world series error he had will always leave a mark on him. Even though its old it happened 25 yrs ago it will leave a mark. Now where are the Red Sox today?? The Red Sox have been quiet now ever since after 2007 after they won the world series. I must admit I am a Mets fan and we did get lucky that world series in 1986. But 1988 Mets should of won that yr for sure which they didn't by getting knocked out by the dodgers in the NLCS.

  • Tom Brady threw an interception in the playoffs last month...hmm he must be the worst qb ever because he made a mistake like Buckner at a key moment.....Not comparing apples to oranges, but cmon Buckner missed ONE ground ball....Its sad and wrong the ridicule he had to go through!

  • what song is playing when he walks across the field? jw

  • I can't speak on what Red Sox Fans did in 86. Wasn't alive then, but I can tell you that without Buckner, the Red Sox would not have at least had that great comeback in the ALCS down 3 games to 1. That Henderson Homer came with 2 out, who got on base to set it up? Buckner

  • I heard Buckner once attempted suicide and jumped in front of a truck, but it went through his legs and he survived.

I also heard he's been accused of income tax fraud because he kept making errors. Haha!

  • They should have had him throw it to Rich Gedman.

  • No way he's doing this if the sox hadn't just won 2 series.Whatever Buckner's a CUB anyway.

  • Bill Buckner was a great player.

No one seems to remember that Buckner was hit in the hip by a fastball in the 9th inning on a very cool night.

Watch Mookie's grounder again, and you'll see that Bill can barely bend over in time to react to the skip of the ball.

Combined with his foot troubles, and having been hit by pitch, there was no excuse for his manager to leave him in the game.

    From a diehard Met's fan.

  • Everyone seems to judge just because Buckner let a ball roll between his legs, he's a terrible player? Wayne Gretzky score an own goal one time, so he's a terrible player right? How about Jack Morris giving up a 3 run home run in Game 5 of the 1992 World Series?

  • @eugene680 yeah i hate how so many bash him... they fail to realize that there was another game after

  • Is this why the yankees won the next year? XD

  • hysterical red sox fans trying to deny they hated buckner and ran the guy outta town....hey red sox fans , you may try to act like baseball history before 2004 doesnt exist in your world, but no one else has forgotten..2 WS in 90 years is what we see..and if you hadnt won in 04 and 07,,no way in hell youd be saying you dont hate buckner.. OWN UP

  • As shameful as it was to blame buckner, cubs fans are way more rabid about steve bartman

  • I love how everyone forgets the wild pitch and boston blowing the lead in game 7 as well .

  • I was at game 6 and was a Mets fan. However, what Boston's fans did to Buckner was an absolute shamful disgrace. Buckner was a borderline Hall of Famer and got run out of town by the Sox "faithful" because of a series of erros which climaxed with his. Sox fans have always shown little class and just because they finally won a championship does not negate the fact that you can't buy class or honor. Buckner has it in spades and Boston's fans still have none.

  • @jlfahrer, i read the book by bill simmons "Now I Can Die In Peace", great book man, couldnt agree more with him, buckner should not be blamed with the loss

  • The game was already tied when the ball went through his legs...... the pitcher didn't go to cover the bag, everything had to be rushed b/c Mookey wilson was running, there were a lot of things that happened on that play. It was just the METS year. If i was a red sox fan I would be pissed off too but he was a big reason you guys were even in the series that year. Sox fans had no class and shunned him for nearly 20 years and if they didn't win in 04 he never would have been invited.

  • Buckner was an all around player. Even with his leg injuries, he always put out 100%. He played with bad legs most of his career, yet his batting was superb. He was even also a decent base stealer. He was my favorite Dodgers player in the 70's. Almost became a Cubs and Red Sox fan, because of him.

  • i never seen someone being an icon for making a mistake, like would i know bill buckner if it wasnt for his mistake? w/e tho go sox

  • @builtstrong2lastlong yeah, hes not an icon idiot

  • @tlshaggy711 hes forever known as the guy who let the ball through the wickets, sad part was he was a good player, so it really depends on what you make of it...idiot

  • Buckner was a courageous player...played most of his career on basically one leg and was a .300 hitter most of the time. And a really nice guy. I interviewed him in his home in Chicago for a magazine article, and he was one of the nicest professional athletes I've ever met. Class act.

  • Comment removed

  • Here's the thing that a lot of people don't realize....let's say that Buckner caught the ball and made the out at first. The inning would be over, the game would still be tied. Anybody's ball game after that.

  • he was injured he shouldn't of been in there. managers fault! i saw top 5 reasons he really wasn't to blame.

  • McNamara was the real goat at that time, not Buckner.

  • yeah

but heres the thing that you dont realize...he didnt, and the mets went on to win....SUCKER!

  • @sandybill1967 exactly!

  • @sandybill1967 Even if he caught it there was no way he was getting Mookie at first. The real goats of the game was Bob Stanley and Calvin Scharldi.

  • @sandybill1967 You're so right sandybill. Plus it was Stanley's wild pitch that scored Mitchell and put knight in scoring position in the first place. Bill Buckner was always a victim of circumtance. Another thing, in game 7 the Sox led the Mets 3-0 going into the bottom of the sixth or I think seventh inning with Bruce Hurst on the mound. It wasn't meant to be for the Sox that year. Buckner did not deserve the shit he got. This coming from a Mets fan.

  • @sandybill1967 i think its the fact that it was such a rookie mistake to miss that grounder. but everyone mistakes. ;) hehe

  • @lbcsleepyhead he was old w knee problems

  • Even though I really don't like the Socks, I always get misty-eyed looking at this moment. Good show, Socks fans. From me here in Rays nation, I'm looking forward to the day we meet again in the AL Title game. 'Til then, fuck the Yankees.

  • He is no Bartman

  • lol u sox fans are a bunch of hipocrites if u wouldnt have won those world series u probly wouldnt invite him XD

  • Lmao if he dropped the ball xD

  • boston is a piece of shit town

  • fuck boston and all its fan. they would have never let him back if they didnt win a championship

  • i agree with yah blkchk and nickmordo unclassy organization.

  • "and it goes through buckner!!!"

  • Weird music, weird city

  • are u serious?! hes allowd in fenway after 86?!

  • haha he was still a good player tho despite that error

  • True, the Red Sox wouldn't have even been in the post season if it wasn't for Buckner.

  • Bill Buckner... my favorite baseball player of all time. The man simply played with heart. MLB needs more guys like him. I was lucky enough to meet him as a kid when he played for the Cubs. As a matter of fact, I have an autographed picture of him on my desk. :)

  • I was lucky enough to know Bill in High School where he lettered in all sports. In PE no one really wanted to play against him because he would hit the ball over the tennis courts which required us to wait 10 minutes of so to recover the ball. He never changed. My mother sent me the Napa Register News Paper while I was in Vietnam for 3 years so I could follow his box scores. He was quite an inspiration for me. He always will have a special place in my heart even though I was a Giant fan.

  • Buckner was a good ballplayer, solid career in the big leagues. Not being either a Mets or Red Sox fan, I hafta say -- hey, in baseball, you're a hero one day, and a bum the next. Buckner just happened to boot one at a Very Wrong Time. Even Babe Ruth pulled a royal effing boner -- trying to steal second with the Series on the line & tossed out by a mile. God bless the Babe and God bless Bill Buckner.

  • I heard Buckner tried to commit suicide by jumping in front of a car after Game 6 of the 86' World Series, but it went through his legs. Bang!

  • Wow, you like it low.. prolly a Yankees fan.

  • Buckner's career stats suggest he was pretty decent ball player.

    Batting average: .289

    Hits: 2,715

    Home runs: 174

    Runs batted in: 1,208

Regardless of letting a grounder go through your legs in a w.s. game 6, there are some good numbers right there.

  • nobody will remember him for that though..

  • sad but true.

but buckner makes the play in a cool film called game 6. check it out, if you haven't seen it.

  • You and xalstarx are correct; while Buckner has more hits than Joe Dimaggio, he will always be remembered for that play. I hope in our lifetime he will get his due (in Cooperstown).

  • I love how easily boston fans forget all the failures of their players and their team collectively before and after that moment. And perhaps if they didn't win Game 1 of the series BECAUSE OF THE EXACT SAME ERROR maybe there wouldn't have even been a game 6. Poor bastard.

  • i'm surprised he didn't roll the ball backwards through his legs.

  • Nice one XD

  • Comment removed

  • ur sins are forgven

  • PlowThrough - Exactly. Sox fans would still be ripping this excellent ballplayer had they not won two Series since. Bullshit revisionists. They've become as irritating as Yankees fans.

  • he was a great player but one ground ball makes him sooo hated in New England that he moved out to Idaho to be away from all the threats he was recieving

  • I always thought it was awful the way his life was ruined by a mistake anyone could have made. ITS A GAME, not life. Very sad.

  • Blame Red Sox fans for tearing Buckner apart. They are the most irrational fans - nobody was even covering the bag on the play, what about the 3 hits before Buckner's play AND what about Game 7?!? The BoSox were up 3-0 in Game 7 and blew it again.

  • Right. Everyone is saying how classy it is of the Red Sox to have him there. I disagree...I think it's classy of Buckner to give the Red Sox and their fans the time of day. If they had not won the world series, they would never have invited him. So I don't think it's 'big' of the Red Sox at all. Just read some of the comments on this board...very sad.

  • @blkchk: You're spewing venom at the wrong people. Spew it at the sportswriters and media who wouldn't let it go. Right before he came out to throw the pitch the announcer even said: "They wouldn't have won the 1986 AL Pennant without Buckner." Bill Simmons, the Sox fan who writes for ESPN, even said "Buckner had over 100 RBIs that season, he deserved to be out there."

Most Red Sox fans never felt pissed at Buckner the same way that Babe Ruth never felt any ill feelings towards the Red Sox.

  • @jlfahrer Sorry...I live in Red Sox territory and was here when the Buckner thing happened. Red Sox fans hated the guy. Who do you think motivated the move out of state...Yankee fans? Yeah, they give him credit NOW. Back then, they wouldn't give him air! Sorry...own up!

  • @blkchk My dad told me that after that incident in the '86 series he had to move and pull his kids out of school because they were getting beaten up every day

  • @RichieEastside I wouldn't doubt it.

  • @blkchk The Red Sox organization had tried to invite Buckner back several times before they won n 04 or 07, he just wasn't ready. Get your facts straight before your try to be a moral compass

  • @JuiceIsLoose22 "he just wasn't ready'. Gee, wonder why not?? Not ready to go back to the welcoming arms of Red Sox fans? Yeah, right. Sorry buddy, you can't get around it...Boston crucified this guy.

  • @blkchk your right, they killed him, if it was me i dont know if i ever would have went back but this is a moment of forgiveness, and a moment Buckner deserved. And your comment of "if they not won the World Series they would never have invited him" is wrong.

  • @JuiceIsLoose22 Buckner didn't do anything to warrant 'forgiveness' so I guess you must mean the Red Sox. It's a game. To run someone out of town because of a game is just sad. So yes, Buckner forgave THEM. And that shows he's a classy guy.

  • @blkchk You are absolutely right. Buckner always said he never held a grudge agaisn't the fans of Boston. Just the media who were very cruel. Buckner showed alot of class to comeback and throw the first pitch out. Its easy for the fans to cheer after 2 rings.

  • @7redsox46 Thanks. And you, as a Red Sox fan, show a lot of class for saying it.

  • @blkchk He was resigned by the Sox briefly in 1990 and was given a standing ovation in the home opener that year. Check your facts

  • @kvnainsworth Another Red Sox fan in total denial. Briefly? The fact remains that Red Sox fans were so hostile toward this man that he moved clear across the country. Media hyped it, you guys bought into it. But, it's a long time ago. Just own up. You'll feel better. Oh BTW GO YANKEES. Have a nice day.

  • @blkchk This just shows how ignorant you newbies are to what really happened. This was never the "Red Sox fans" dissing Buckner. In fact when Buckner returned to the Sox a few years later he received a standing ovation on Opening Day. This was a b.s. "joke" that took years to build up, but it was the NATIONAL media that got & kept it going. It had nothing to do with Sox fans. Even Buckner agreed to that.

    You're forgiven for your ignorance.

  • @JimPollard17 Oh please...I finished that conversation months ago. Just like a Red Sox fan....slooooooow on the uptake. You may reply but some of us have moved on and will have better things to do. See ya.

  • @blkchk Yeah, imbecile, I follow your every conversation. You just showed your true colors, unable to respond to a legitimate comment like an adult.

And, of course, since I proved you wrong, you relied on the old "oh, I don't do that discussion".

Of course you don't. Because I blew you out of the water.

Thank you. Thank you very much.

I'm sure you won't respond because, you know, you've "moved on". Next time try posting about something you know. I'm sure you've "moved on". Let's see.

  • @blkchk Oh my God, 2,029 channel views? Really? And you have a life, uh, how?

    ROTFLMFAO

What a typical YouTube unemployed no-life loser.

Oh, wait, I forgot; you've "moved on". I'm sure I won't hear back from you.

    BWA HA HA HA HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • @blkchk seriously, since so many crap on him all the time, except for the truly loyal

  • @blkchk you're not kidding! you know, it was so unfair of the media and the redsox fans to blame him for that loss of game six. he played his ass off for that team all year on what amounted to peg legs. there were so many other factors that led to that loss other than bill buckner missing that ball. people forget they got the lead back and then blew it again. i blame the manger for leaving calvin in so long and bob stanley when it was obvious they didn't have it any longer..

  • excuse me but not all red sox fans blame him.@yajairaslave

  • @blkchk You really are a fucking ignorant moron. The Red Sox invited Buckner in prior years but he declined. Of course you don't know that because you like to spout off without knowing the facts. And also you don't know that it was the national media that built up the bogus legend of the error, not the "Boston fans". On Opening Day in 1990, which was FOUR YEARS after the error, Buckner acknowledged that he received the largest standing ovation of all players.

Which leaves you a total buffoon.

  • yes nick. u r right.

  • The Fans? Are you out of your mind? You obviously do not live in Boston. Bill Buckner got a standing ovation on opening day in 1987. The fans never blamed Buckner. The game was tied and pretty much over when that ball was hit to him. He had bad legs and wore special cleats. He was replaced for defense in almost every game. Real Red Sox fans know the facts. The media made the Buckner thing what it became, not the fans.

  • Glad to see a Boston fan saying that, finally someone with a brain. The idiots that tried to blame the world series on that play thought if he picked up the ball and touched 1st base that the Sox would have won the whole series...They don't realize the game was tied and the all the crap happened with 2 outs and no one on...Buckner the problem? No, how about Bob Stanley and Calvin Schiraldi...right...

Glad to see the fans cheering for Bill Buckner...one of the best players to ever play the game.

  • man this ALMOST made me cry lol

  • No Sox Fan Would Say They Liked Him If You Guys Didnt Win The Past Couple Of World Series

  • WE LOVE YOU BILL

  • I understand but some red sox fans made baseball the center of the universe..

  • a lot of people dont realize that the game was tied at that point..it wasnt all his fault

  • Exaclty. He wouldn't have beaten Mookie to the bag. 1986 is long gone.

  • I am presently watching the 1986 world series on dvd. Back in 86 i listened to the whole series on the radio. i'm telling ya, buckner was almost crippled you could see it plain as day that this guy was hurting, especially in game 5 after his dive into home plate, buckner just dropped like a sack of potatos. clearly this was a man who just didn't have the strength from being in so much pain. baylor shouldve played 1st and buckner dh. i blame the red sox not buckner.

  • (nods the head in agreament)

  • RED SOX ARE CLASS ! if this were the yankees do you think this would happen.. HELL NO, GEORGE STALINBRENNER WOULD HAVE HAD HIM SHOT. or SENT TO ALASKA !!!

  • @azbaldy5 red slops, er sox are crass.

  • I guess now that they won one, it's safe for him to come out.

  • lol agree

  • we'll still suck your dick bill. we love you.

  • everyone know's Buckner shouldn't have been in the game at that point.....if I remember right, they had started pulling him for a defensive replacement late towards the end of the season.

I'm thinking the mgr wanted him on the field in case they clinched.

  • no he was hurt

    he had a minor injury

but they wanted him on the field for the celebration, kind of a bad move

  • Oh, Boston likes him NOW........

    I'VE ALWAYS LIKED Bill Buckner.

    Of course, I'm a Mets fan....... ;)

But Boston IS a classy organization, and Buckner IS a great guy happy for the both of them......

  • I grew up with Buckner on the Dodgers. I moved to Chicago, and he was on the Cubs. He was consistent and great. One error shouldn't tarnish his career. How many times have we screwed up at work:)?

  • I totally agree with you.

Great guy, consistent player, great fielder-

It just makes that one Miracle Roller all the better for Mets fans. ;)

But yes- he was great on and off the field.

  • Its only right that Boston gave him a standing ovation...after all that shit we gave him for 20+ years.....

  • he's got nerve - taking all that money in payoff and then coming back to town to wave to those fans....shame

  • One error any dumbass could'v made that play and as unforgiving as Boston fans are i'm surprised their isn't a video response to this titled "Buckner murder in clubhoue after opening pitch" not to mention the fact that he accepted the invitation to throw out the first pitch after what he did to that team; he singlehandedly lost them that game.

  • Singlehandedly???? I don't think so!! Where is some of the blame for what got them to that play? Had everybody else played their best that day, it would have been a smear and not that close. And it wasn't the last game of the series.

  • thank u buckner,, go mets go

  • I'm surprised someone didn't shoot him...

  • I surprised he didnt get booed out of Fenway Park. I know its stupid to base his career off of one error..But come on anyone could have fielded that easy grounder...not to mention that he should have been alert since it was the WORLD SERIES!

  • im just glad red sox won 04 and 07. Just for him. 1986 is over with and its a big mistake for him. Red Sox fans still love him!

  • im a yankee fan and a big baseball fan and what people fail to realize is that he won gold glove and was a great fielder. Class act by this organization to bring him back

  • very! he had a career batting average of 289 also. he was a huge part the sox even got to the series that year. i despise the sox, but even i was glad to see them win the series just so buckner could finally be left alone

  • SpeedDemon1983......The Red Sox didn't win those World Series for Buckner........................Buckner acted like a clown during the series and it came back to bite him in the nuts!.....Clowning around made him lose his focus and cost Boston the series!

  • See what people fail to realize is that his error was in game six. Yeah if it didn't happen there wouldn't be any game six, but Sox still had the chance to win in the next game.

  • I lost a lot of money on game7 too......I just wish Buckners error was a series ending error.

  • Welcome Back Bill youre a helluva player.....!

  • This is a class move...but it makes it a lot easier to swallow now that they've broken the curse.

  • I am a Yankee fan and I have to say that this was a class act by the Red Sox. Buckner should never have been ostracized the way he was....he was an integral part of getting Boston into the post season and probably more so than many of the other players on the team at that time.

  • Truly a great day for baseball. Welcome back Buckner!

  • Class! Boston has class! Buckner helped get them to the post season and he played his heart out! This is great to see, and I'm not a Sox fan.

  • My TymeBand08.......He did not play his heart out ......I've never seen a player clown around as much as he did in that World Series.............By acting like a clown during the series.................he finally became one!

  • Don't be an asshole! The man made it to the majors, and he has a family. I'm no Sox fan, but he missed a ground ball! What have you screwed up in front of a few million people? Forgot to hold the lettuce in some crap at Taco Bell? Give the guy some slack.

  • MyTymeBand08......I lived in Vegas in 1986......I had $25,000 riding on that game. After that game I had probably only 10,000 in savings.....$25,000 was a lot of money in 1986.....The reason I had a grudge on Buckner is because he kept clowning around during that series....He wasn't serious and focused on winning,he was just there to joke around and have a good time.

  • dude its baseball... theyre supposed to be clowning around and having a good time. theyre grown men being paid to play a game! and the sox should NEVER have blown that lead in game 6... or they could have won game 7...

  • usctrjans666.....I lost $12,000 on that game so I'm a little hard on Buckner.Back in 1986 $12,000 was a lot of money to me..............But,let me tell you something"YOU DON'T CLOWN AROUND IN THE WORLD SERIES!!!!

  • justin64, in one of your earlier post, you said you lost $25,000 on that game. Doesn't matter, 12K or 25K, you bet against the '86 Mets. What were you thinking (smoking)?

  • rwalden2007.....12,000 to win 13,000....so I would have collected 25,000.............I lost 12,000,but I already was counting the winnings. Lost on game 7 too!........I make a lot of big sports bets in Las vegas.I win more than lose that's why I'm banned from some of the casinos there.

  • True, besides, how smart is it to bet most of your life savings on baseball game, for god's sake? WHAT IF YOU LOSE? Oh wait, that's what happened!

  • And BLADE99948, same to you. Whatever city you are in or team you support has the eaxct same thing, good and bad fans, or you're just an imbecile if you don't know it.

  • Well, SIDDAKID, what you don't realize is that it's a tiny, tiny minority of Sox fans who gave him grief.

And a smaller percentage of those that would have done it in places like NY. Just look at the A-Rod garbage by the NY Post.

These are the fans who have never blamed Buckner.

You need to get your act straight. All fans in every city are not identically the same.

  • The fact it took them to win twice since he retired to "apologize" to him... is a joke within itself

  • Red Sox fans make me sick.

  • And the fact is Sox fans weren't "forgiving" Buckner because there is nothing to forgive. They are APOLOGIZING.

Great guy, great player. Anyone who says otherwise are just spewing b.s. on something they obviously know nothing about.

This was the best moment of '08, not the World Series or anything else, because this was about real life, a guy who's had to take it for decades from the turnips who should just kill themselves and better the planet.

    Thank you Billy Buck.

  • Fact is Buckner was a near-Hall-Of-Famer who is not to blame for the '86 Series. It took years for that to take on a life of its own.

And the fact that his family took grief is abominable. Probably from people like RK831, the irrelevant losers of the world.

  • Well said. If there is anyone to place the "blame" on, (first of all, the entire Boston team should shoulder it anyway, but humour me) put it on Bob Stanley. If he wouldn't have thrown that pitch away, things would have been vastly different. But again, not even Bob Stanley can be blamed. The Sox let New York hang around too long. And THAT will end up biting you in the ass nearly every time.

  • How can the Sox ever match this opening? Impossible.

There will always be the classless losers like RK831 who, of course, could never match the talen of Buckner, so they bring him down because they're so insecure about their own failed lives. Psychology 101.

  • new york mets. new york mets.

  • So awesome that Sox fans forgive him. If only Cub fans would stop being selfish and forgive Bartman.

  • i hate this about sports. People always try to blame it on one person, cause the kicker at the end of the game missed a kick or somebody made an error on a easy hit ball. Either way, if everybody would have played their best the game wouldnt have been that close. And the mets won that game, boston could have closed them out in game 7, but they were busy whining over buckner. Im glad to see the city forgave him after they got 2 more. And he was a great player. Sad he will be remembered for that.

  • You all might want to search: Bill Buckner career stats.

  • Maybe he should have thrown the first pitch between his legs.

  • HAHAHA

  • What's the name of the song that playing, i must know!!!!!

  • What a fuck up

  • mets suck, they've choke two seasons in a row. it seems like no matter who they get (martinez, beltran, delgado, santana) they can't make the playoffs. sad

  • mets didnt choke we lost are closer, wagner and are pitching staff relied on the worst pitcher o close and i say we did pretty damn well for a managerial change in the middle of the year

  • get a clue, they choked. Both years, i cant remember a bigger collapse in pro sports. And this year they had to make the playoff otherwise it would be a choke. Santana did his job. I cant speak for the rest of the guys.

  • 1986! 1986! 1986!

  • mets suck??? im suprised there cheering cause under the legs thats saaaaaaaaaaad
