  • Notice one is a starter and the other is not. With Bards mechanics you cant go for a long period of time because his elbow gets above his shoulder and his hand is outside of 90degrees at weight baring footplant

  • notice the trend these days in pitching. no one is topping 95 unless they are a highly paid closer.

  • @bangsnapsgalore

that´s not true Jimenz (COL), Beckett (BOS), Johnson,(FLA) , Sabathia (NYY), Jackson (CWS), Strasburg (WSH), Volquez (CIN) at I could go on and on...

  • @yogaflame30 idk if you watched the playoffs. there was no one over 93 except wilson and neftali feliz. their velocities all tapered wayyy off at the end of th season

  • @bangsnapsgalore

well that is to expect. After a loooong season your arm just can´t throw as hard as in the beginning of the season. Plus the pitchers get less days off to rest their arms.

  • @yogaflame30 as a collegiate pitcher. I understand what an arm goes through over the course of a fall and spring season. there is no reason why velocities should taper off that much if you are pitching with good mechanics and are doing teh right things to keep your body healthy

  • @bangsnapsgalore Nobody topping 93 except Feliz and Wilson? Guess again, even just on the Giants there's Casilla who throws harder than Wilson. Ryan Madson on the Phillies threw real hard in october, as did Aroldis Chapman. As starterson the Reds Cueto and Volquez were hitting 96 in the playoffs. In the AL there was Price, Liriano, Sabathia and Burnett that were all throwing mid 90's in october....where are you getting this "nobody topping 93 except Feliz/Wilson" stuff from?

  • @SoulControllerAve dont forget ubaldo jimenez, he was hitting 99 at the all-star game

  • @drumerrboi77 This guy was talking about pitchers in the playoffs not topping 93 though. Of course Ubaldo has a nasty fastball, but the Rockies didn't make the postseason! I mean there's literally dozens of guys I could list that have mid 90's upper 90's heat but the ones I just listed were guys who were doing it in the playoffs last year.

  • @SoulControllerAve oh, i didnt notice that one, my bad.

  • @drumerrboi77 lol it's cool. I just found it weird that he was trying to say that. I mean, he obviously didn't watch the playoffs if he's thinking only Feliz and Wilson were topping 93...

  • @SoulControllerAve yeah, deffinately.

  • daneil bard when hes warmed up nd reay he throws around 100 mph the fastest ive seen him threw was 102 mph

  • he means dont have your elbow above your shoulder when your in the power position

  • no, he means elbow above shoulder before release, not just before release

  • Hey the only thing I dont understand about the mechanics you teach is this. You always say the elbow should not be above the shoulder. Both of these guys elbows are just above their shoulder. From what I can see most good pitchers will have their elbow at or above the shoulder.

  • @uwa26 , its more complicated than that, first you generally dont want your elbow above your shoulders because it creates timing problems aka it makes it much harder to get your arm into a good position before the shoulders rotate. seconds when they are throwing there shoulders are on a tilt, so you want your elbow below the line of the shoulders, so if you shoulders are on a slant then the elbow will be higher, but should still be below the plane of the shoulders (only slightly though)
