  • ROCKmaninoff on!! Great piece of music! I'm sure Sergei would approve! And as stated above, definently not a cover of the song, but a neat inspiration of a great piece of music!

  • @RevRJBrink,

You make a good point--thanks for bringing that up.

  • I don't know who is better, Jon Schmidt or Serj Tankian.

  • @DramedyFart They're both amazing, and I applaud your taste in music.

Still, you're comparing apples to oranges here: While they both write music, the latter is a singer first and the former is a pianist first.

  • @DramedyFart Serj has the voice of god, that's the difference

  • Interesting experiment wrt to both vides.

If you're not trying to do something different, now and then, you aren't really trying. If you want to discover true genius, find people who are trying to do something different.

  • Reminds me of dream theater 2:14

  • Sounds great just wish there was less bass so i could actually hear the song clearer

  • @Russellhart2006

If you haven't already found it, you might want to check out "Rock meets ROCKmaninoff" is the same song but with much more emphasis on the piano--you can hear it much more clearly.

  • @ElArdillaFeroz I actually like this one better because you can hear all the other instruments more clearly. Everyone sounds like they're playing together on a shared piece instead of the band just playing backup to the piano.

  • It was a mess, I suspect the YouTube compression had something to do with it.

  • It's a great arrangement but the production (or Youtube) killed much of the dynamics ... drums sound like they are played from under a blanket. It could use less dynamics compression

  • @mikosoft That's why you support their efforts and go buy the iTunes track. :)

  • <3

  • Freaking EPIC!!!! I loved it so much.. real talent bro.... congrats!

  • I felt like I was listening to TSO!!!! Absolutely amazing!!!!!

  • @Music1Comp TSO?

  • @rayschalch Trans-Siberian Orchestra. They take classical music and turn it into rock music. They've got electric strings and a couple of electric pianos. It's a pretty sweet light show, too. I went to one of their concerts last December. They do a lot of Christmas music, too. I'll message you a link to see a little bit of what they do.

  • @Music1Comp Thanks bro! got it!

  • @rayschalch Yep no problem!

  • @Music1Comp hey that sounds really nice, can i have the link to their shows too pls? thanks!

  • @Music1Comp Al Pitrelli, former lead guitarist for Megadeth, plays for them now.

  • @MetalAgainstMetallic which automatically makes them cool. Any mix between metal and classical is cool. When Megadeth is involved, it becomes epic :D

  • O_O

  • This is nothing like Rachmaninoff. Sounds more like Toccata.

    Awesome though.

  • Awesomeness it's self.

  • @Wurbyfu

    It's self?

*speaks slowly* DO YOU SPEAK ENGLISH?

  • @LilyTheAnnoyance It was a mistake from my android phone.

  • @Wurbyfu I see.

I'm sorry, it just gets on my nerves when Americans can't seem to write in English. :)

    My apologies once again.

  • I was at his concert earlier this evening. And he played it. This was my favorite of them all.

  • Awesome. I wanna meet his son! haha. :D

  • that's no more bells of moscow that hell of moscow

  • We need a music video of this with Lord of the Rings clips.

  • @jamesivan24 what? why?

  • i <3 it! it combines rock music and classical music all in one!

  • power metal Rachmaninoff? i think yes.

  • He says in his notes above that it's NOT a cover. It was just inspired by it.

  • I love this piece, but it doesn't sound enough like the original.

  • cool song, but I would have never been able to tell that this was a cover

  • I have to say this music feels like that to an epic duel in movie. Even better then John Williams "Duel of the Fates"

  • i hoped to hear a note to note cover of this great work of art ...but this is your own interpretation...now i'm learning to play it myself ..the real thing...when i'll feel confident enough i'l post a cover ...nonetheless this is a great tune. but it lacks the sheer power of the original

  • this is simply epic !!!

  • It's intense...but I don't like the lack of the original.

  • I play this piece on the piano, love to hear this 'adaptation' of Rachmaninoff's masterpiece! What instruments did you use?

  • this is awesome stuff man

  • this one is wicked! :D

  • lol that is awesome
