He didn't hit the highest note. So what? He was on pitch throughout. Being a great performer is not about how high the note or even sounding like the recording. It is about telling a story in a way which connects to the audience. The "Big Note" can be largely irrelevant. This is my first time viewing ANY video of this song, live or studio. I'm also a Jazz, R&B and Opera fan and for my money he sounded great

I noticed this in the other songs live, too, like Crawling in the Dark, Running Away, etc. They are hard to hit. It's ok though. I like raw live sound and Hoobastank does it well. It would be nice to see live in the studio versions of the songs where there are no overdubs but he could hit the high notes easier.

its not that he doesn't hit the high notes, he just doesn't sing them ...its one thing to try and hit them and miss ..maybe he can't hear himself in his stage monitor because of the crowd being right there ..that's my take ..it would sound terrible if he tried and was off key on the high notes ..too tough to do if you can't hear your own voice in the floor monitor

what the hell you talking about? singing outside and in studio is totally different, he can probably easily hit the high note, just that in a concert or outdoors its different from a studio, it still may not sound as good even though he hits the note perfectly, too many variables involved, wind, humidity, open space all varibles that cant be controlled, whereas in a studio it can, there are no tricks, he can hit the note, just might not sound the same because of conditions, not his talent.

Auto tune is the electronic sounding pitch correction. you can use something called pitch correction which the person who is recording you can go in(depending what recording software as in nuendo, reason, etc) and they can change the notes and the pitches that you had hit in the recording. Pretty much just like cutting down all of the mistakes in someones voice. That's why you can sound so amazing in a studio and completely suck ass live.

Yes, it sounds different live, and he does a few different things with the melody - but I love both versions equally.
