  • Gilgamesh seems to own two Soul Caliburs.. Look at the upper right and far left.. O.O

  • @zaberfang what he has is more powerful, and came first. Perhaps not in the actual continuity of time, but according to the canon, all of his weapons are the archetypes for the weapons other characters have. For instance, instead of Caliburn or Excalibur, he has that which spawned both of their legends: Gram, the sword embedded in the tree by Odin.

So technically, his are something else, but not unrelated.

  • @chimamiresatoh Its a pun, I'm talikng about the Soul Calibur from the Namco's Soul Series... : ) not Arthur's Excalibur or Caliburn. : )

  • @zaberfang I understand that. I was using those as an example.

The point is he may well own something like Soul Calibur, but something older and more potent. He owns all legendary weapons, but not the ones from legend, the ones that were the reason the legends were created.

Word of mouth is never the same as the actual thing. The stories we have about Soul Calibur were spawned by something somewhere, and that is what he has. The original. It's the same for all weapons of repute.

  • @chimamiresatoh *shrugs* alrighty then.. : )

  • lols its an illution... the background is moving :D

  • theres just something about Gil that i just dont like. i dont know why, i love his Gates of Babylon, his holier then thou attitude, and the way he just RIPS his opponents to shreds is awesome. But i still dont like the guy.....Ah, well. At least Saber is easy on the eyes.

  • Unlimited Blade Works

  • Also note this. Saber is no match for Gilgamesh. But Gil loves and respects her because she was still quite strong as compared to the other Heroes AND she had a indomitable spirit. He doesnt respect Emiya is because he later gives up on his ideals when he becomes Archer and his ideals are borrowed. And also he is quite weak. Only his UBW gives him a natural advantage over Gil like Water has over Fire.

  • @EiyuuOumono

UBW only gives natural advantage over Gate of Babylon. He could have used Ea to rip/break the whole 'unlimited blade works' reality marble just like how he broke Alexander's Ionian Hetairoi.

  • @pkw94 Thanks for spoiling that.

  • @pkw94 he DID want to use Ea to rip the whole UBW, but shirou cut his arm before that, to bad for gilgamesh. of course IF he use the armor his arm can't be cut in the first place, its gilgamesh own stupidity for not using his armor.....by the way why did gilgamesh don't use the armor anyway? can't gilgamesh wear his armor anywhere and anytime, why didnt he use it when shirou unleashed the reality marble. did it got destroyed or sumthing. maybe its for the storyline plot....

  • @animegamesbiggestfan he was made even more proud after tainted by avenger's curse. and i remember he claims that he will only pull Ea out to kill someone that is worthy enough. hm the armor isnt a big point, as in between the wrist and the elbow, theres also a open part covered with only cloth. though he only pulled Ea at the last moment @@, he could actually just enkidu on shiro and enuma elish the whole land. Type-moon fails us :)

  • @pkw94 actually that not a fail, saber uses avalon and he stil doesn't use enkidu, he only use enkidu at berserker for some reason. he can easily nuke saber with a million noble phantasm but he didnt, he's too arrogant which lead to his stupid downfall. ah whatever, i never like gilgamesh anyway.

  • @pkw94 Quite true. If UBW is the natural nemesis of Gate of Babylon then Ea is the natural nemesis of UBW. Lol. Ubw creates reality. While it is Ea's specialty to destroy reality. UBW is fodder for Ea.

  • Observe. Gilgamesh doesnt pride himself on his fighting power but his veryu own exsistence. From saying humans are weak i guess he wasnt referring to the physical fighting power. He was referring to how humans nowadays fall into despair when facing adversities. They "move on" when being rejected anything they want instead of getting it with persistence. And the over all character weakness of the modern humans. This is what makes Gilgamesh(along with his powers) my all time favourite(anime&real).

  • Guys guys guys! When people are shooting swords out of extradimensional vaults, guns suddenly don't look so unfair anymore, now do they?

  • @Nuvenim Agreed.

People seem to have viewpoints of guns as "cowardly" or "dishonourable", but nobody bats an eyelid when this insane douchebag starts firing swords from hyperspace.

  • @SeraphimSwordmaster Hahaha, you're right. It's been stated somewhere that Gilgamesh only fights melee when he's confident he'll win. I never thought he wasn't cheap. 8P

  • @soul1112 Back in his days it was pretty common to have dragons and minotaurs and god-bull monsters roaming around killing everyone. What doesnt kill you makes you stronger, those who lacked potential died, those who survived learned, were motivated to train and become stronger (because they didnt want to die) and they passed on their superior genes and techniques to the next generation. Today the greatest threat is a heart attack from obesity, people are weak because they dont need to be strong

  • Gilgamesh looks gay like this. I prefer him in his flashy golden suit and his hair up.

  • If we were still using rocks and spears, than bows would be cowardly weapons.

  • Actually, he just wants to destroy humanity because he believes they have fallen. back when he was king it was a struggle to survive and heroes were common place, in the modern world humans are decadent and corrupt, he believes he is doing them a favor by ending their existence. When you think about it, it's probably true though >.>

  • @jenniferthomas28 I don't think that about humans being stronger before is true.

  • @soul1112 I do think it is true. Nowaday we got firearm, back then they use swords and spear and war is common, with melee weapon they can't kill their opponent easily without attacking their fatal point and their opponent will defend that certain area, firearm can kill in one go easily. Thus, they have to fight for long period of times against many enemy, that alone can make them stronger. Also, people have to hunt their food and all, while we do not need to.

  • @Exorcistkanda thats why he think humans have become lazier these days, unlike warriors from his time, they have pride and honour, unlike us these days, we just kill for money or for some other purpose

  • @Exorcistkanda Well, that's not the part I disagree with. Those were the soldiers back then. But common folk, not all of them could go to hunt for food if they lived in cities and such, so they relied on things we rely on now, like markets.

I think guns are cowardly weapons.

  • @soul1112 cowardly weapon... yea suuuuureeee, You might've forgotten the 3 principle of weapon:

    1. Easy to use = rather than mastering sword technique, mastering how to aim with guns is (a lot more) easier

    2. Range = the better the range is the higher your chance to catch enemy off guard, something that you can't do with melee weapon (unless you do surprise attack ofc)

    3. Speed = fastest weapon before we found guns: crossbow, but it's speed still not enuf because we need to reload for every shot

  • @Arleran Dont forget accuracy to

  • @Arleran Sorry but, that only supports ExcorsitKanda's point even further, and by extension mine. :/

    I'm not saying it's a bad weapon. I'm saying it's a cowardly weapon.

  • @Arleran that is why its cowardly, It lessens the warriors sense of dignity in facing foes. Then again, we could be talking of just methods of killing here and not the killing art. : )

  • Comment removed

  • @soul1112 agreed. guns have no moral consequences really. shoot someone and move on. a melee weapon made things personal.

  • @Exorcistkanda i think it all boils down to the right kind of tool to use in the fight. Pragmatism.

  • @jenniferthomas28

He only has our best intrests

  • @jenniferthomas28 It IS true humanity lost its way long ago. I long for the great apocalypse that allows true magic to return to the world once again.

  • @TheTraveler12 you a magic user as well? : )

  • @jenniferthomas28 It IS true. Humanity lost its way a long time ago. I for one long for the great cataclysm, the upheaval of the earth that allows TRUE magic to return to the world. To return us that which was taken away by the gods themselves as punishment for losing faith in them. Of course they removed all evidence of such things. Like the library at Alexandria.

  • @TheTraveler12 i only read that last comment of yours, but you really think this world, the real would should be destroyed? are you stupid. you think the world would be better off without technology? hell no human would survive without it we depend on it. if the world got through a "rebirth" there would be no magic, only dead beings. gods don't exist either.... faith in something that does not exist is just pure stupidity

  • @gtafan110010 im sorry you feel that way. man survived for quite a long time without modern tech. we did all right without it don't you think? the gods will provide for us if we accept them back. Tech made us forget them.

  • @TheTraveler12 man used to be able to survive without tech and look at how they ended up. the average age of a person back in the 1500 hundreds is what... 30 to 50? now were around 80 to 90. technology helped us survive and grow, and we now have to depend on it to keep surviving. simple fact. humans won't survive in the cold weather without heaters, we wouldn't be able to live from now well cooked food. our stomachs have devolved. if tech disappeared, so would mankind as a whole.

  • @gtafan110010

I wont be too sure about that...its true that we are getting too dependent on the technology, but if world change suddenly, I believe humans would be able to adapt to it soon enough...Its true that there will be a lot of deaths..but people will not vanish so easily

  • @nikgokuhil humans used to be able to adept, trust me, we have lost that skill. yes, a few might survive, but that number will prolly be under 100.000 if the world gets an armageddon (total destruction of all civilisation). not only that but human have destroyed so many forests, waters and so on, we would get poisoned by drinking that water and die from sicknesses. we can't survive a total "reboot". and believing in god wouldn't change that. evolution would take to long to survive.

  • @gtafan110010

Well..that is a possibility..but modern-technology is quite a recent thing, the world has changed a lot in a relatively short period of time and is still changing at a fast pace.

I do not mean a complete lack of science and technology, but I think we can manage quite well even if we loose electricity and cars and stuff.

A rapid change always result in deaths in mass regardless of how adaptable a spieces is, but people survive, no matter how little and that is how evolution works..

  • @nikgokuhil not fully true, i'll make this my last post, so others won't get bothered haha, let's say that every machine would stop working, city's ended in ruin, because of say. a giant wave went over the whole planet. or a meteorite. prolly 90% of the people would die. after that humanity would need to learn to survive the new weather, no electricity, no internet, no normal made meals. we would eat things that are by now poisonous, and the water is to dirty aswell. we'd be extinct

  • @gtafan110010

Hmm..well..assuming that the phenomenon leaves the environment just as it is right now, a lot of people would get sick and stuff, but environment should not change that much...people will figure out how to deal with weather without air conditioner and stuff...and considering how major portion of population is living in poverty, I think survival rate would not be so bad. A lot of people deal with dirty water and stuff anyway.

  • @TheTraveler12

“The fox provides for himself, but God provides for the lion.” -William Blake

  • @jenniferthomas28 Rather a bunch of lazy bums you can laugh with than an arrogant prick with way to much power. He only walks around claiming everything is his and is a douche especially to other heroes. His only really cool scene was his death in Stay Night. Put him in a suit and teach how to keep his thoughts to himself, he might as well be a corrupt executive. In fact, forget the suit.

  • i Will )

  • Somehow Gilgamesh is just not impressing at all.

His Power is stolen. Its just trash that he should be the "real" owner of all those powerful artefact/relict weapons, just because he was the oldest king dated in history.

In fact that should mean he is the one who should own the SMALLEST treasure of all, maybe just one powerful weapon to show his status and thats it.

Sad to say but he has no real power of his own. Everything is stolen. ^^

  • @DunkleMaterie117

He have EA. It's enough.(Enuma Elish can beat anyone.)

  • @aa880230Rod Tell that to Saber and her Avalon ;)

  • @Brekkir Ok.....I think Avalon is an exception. 。_。│││

  • @DunkleMaterie117 He has EA, which has an attack that can destroy the whole world and rip huge holes in space-time if he goes all out. It can beat anything except True Magic (I think) and Avalon (which beats literally everything that is on the level of True Magic or less).

  • @natchu96 Destroying the world sounds good to me. Want to destroy it often enough myself. But in the end, that would still not solve the problem, just shift it into another reality. Wherever it goes. ;-)

" If im to shitty to make everyone respect me, I can still destroy the world, hahahaha! "

    *applaus without any adoration*

Wow cool, that is so~ great. Just because he sucks to much to simply MAKE the people love him and accept him. With his arrogant attitude, only the masochists will follow him.

  • @natchu96 i dont think its an attack which "destroys" the whole world, it only turns the wolrd back to the way it was before, the TRUTH of our world

  • @DunkleMaterie117

Because he possessed all the things in the world (also the rough materials) he is somehow the legal owner of anything created with them (basically everything)
