  • which engine has your 182?

  • Comment removed

  • a ppl is a private pilot license which allows a pilot to fly any plane up to a 200hp engine but on the website for my flight school it says this plane is commom for ppl's

  • In the US, a private pilot is not restricted to 200hp. He does however need a special "high performance" endorsement in his logbook to pilot such and aircraft. This might well be different in other countries.

  • um i have a question... does a ppl cover this horsepower cause its like 230 but on a website it says that it is commonly used for ppl's

  • This aircraft has the Continental O-470R engine. It is rated at 230 hp. (I don't know what a ppl is.)

  • lovely vid! 5 stars :)

  • Lovely aircraft.

  • The 182 Continental engine purs. I flew an old one this past weekend.

  • wow! has estado solo? mis respetos! en una cessna a 11 000 pies y solo! yo me aburriria horrores!

  • I heard that weather is the hardest thing to learn about flying, is that true?

  • I would say so. Weather is the hardest thing to learn to deal with, yes.

  • is there a model of the 182 that has retractable gears ? because im flying one today out of brookhaven NY and the guy im flying with has a 182 with retractable gears. btw i am 14

  • Yes, theere is a retractable gear version, the C-182RG.

  • Btw guys the streamlined wheelpans adds like 2 knots to your cruising speed.

  • I'll take 2kts anyday.

  • hell yeah. I will too. I was told you cant land on grass with those, then I was told you can. Can you? The one I solo has no streamlined wheelpans.

  • Nonsense. I land on grass all the time with the streamlined wheelpants. Of course, the grass is always cut to a reasonable length.

  • Oh ok, I was lied to then. Some of these unpaved runways suck in the summertime. Puddles can build up on some areas of the runway slowing down the plane. It is a lot funner than landing on a paved runway. I love landing at unpaved fields.

  • WOW! that is really high for a! Cessna

  • fukin hell iive never seen a cessna go that high lol yeah were u goin btw

  • I was cruising at 11,000ft. This is not unusual for a single engine Cessna. At that altitude the engine can be leaned back to 10 gallons per hour.

    Destination was Perry SC, (SC95).

  • yeah the 182 is capable of 18000 feet just not without oxygen. To gary. What type of 182 is this? I fly a 182R mostly, but have flown a Q and an 2007 182T. If guessing you were IFR or VFR on top?

  • 1973 Cessna 182P at 11,000, I was on an IFR flight plan.

  • Hmm. Obviously an IFR flight. Where were you guys going to?

  • Serenity in the skies. She looks and sounds stunning.

  • nice, can u hear each other ? or do u need headphones ?

  • u can hear each other, but you would sound very quiet so you generally wear headphones.
