Either way, going by my beliefs, I don't believe in impossibility, so calling something unrealistic just doesn't register in my little mind. :P And honestly, I'm not to big a fan of Cowboy Bebop. It's a bit overrated as it can tend to put me to sleep. That being said, I guess I can't help you there other than Ruroni Kenshin which is an O.K anime, but I still reccommend giving mecha a shot.

If you want some amazing anime, try Gurren Lagann, New Getter Robo/ Getter Armageddon, s-CRY-ed, Shin Mazinger Z, or Sengoku Basara. Hope that helps.
