I've heard the Judi Dench version (older woman). Thought it was awful. Too old? Can't sing? Judy Collins' version seems best.

:'( Amazing! So much emotion..i just love Ruthie Henshall! She has the most amazing voice and puts so much emotion in to her songs...i just can't wait for her to come back to the west end she needs to come back now! Saw her in the Woman In White last november and WOW i was blown away, much like i was when i saw this on tv

It's so nice to hear this song actually SUNG. So many times, it's sung by older women and the true beauty of the melody doesn't come out.

I agree with you that she sings it beautifully, although it really should be sung by an older woman. the meaning of the song is not as powerful otherwise.

I suck and came in biased. Last time I heard this song, a friend of mine (actually a broadway star) sang it. She was in the show and it was actually the last time I saw her perform on stage.
But Ruthie just BLOWS ME AWAY!
