you're both wrong. You cant measure a cars 0-100 off the speedo. The speedo will always read ever so slightly higher than the 'real' speed of the car. Thats why motoring journos use VBox and such to track real 0-100 times.

If you take into consideration its weight (AWD is yes heavy and has more moving parts), gear ratio and driver reaction time a 0-100 time for this car is in at around the 6.7 second mark. Ive dragged one of these off from a stand still and its sad how slow it looks. However, if you were to say, line one of these up with a normal car like a Honda or a Non turbo car then yes this is fast. But in stock form the RS is slow considering its cost. Still faster than a Mini Cooper S though.

I counted precisly the time for this run wiht my timecode of my log "Sony Vegas" & your car move precisly to 15.18s thus since you dont see that, if you give the 100kmh to 21.8s, the real time for this run is about 21.8 - 15.18 = 6.62s :-)

Thus you can made a best result sure :-)

Had a run against one of these today in my fn2 civic type r and the focus isnt as quick as you think.

When it's slippery Golf R is 2,7 slower on a lap, compared to 1:36,2 for Focus RS, accordning to swedish Auto Motor & Sport. Reason: you cannot turn the ESP off entirely.

@OnklAgL I know don silencioso. I've been talking about the original exhaust and motor sound. Golf R is nice, but for me just another VW copy and poorly without the nice v6.. I know that the R is faster then the old r32. Still I think the Focus RS2009 is more fun to drive. Golf R and Focus RS are both hatchbacks but they are just to different. And remember this is about the RS and not your golf in here. There are to many faster cars. Hopefully not everybody will talk about his faster car here ^^

@OnklAgL It's not true!!!!....On italian magazine "Gente Motori" there's a test beetwen Focus rs, Golf r and Megane rs!! Ford Focus 0-100 takes 6.3 sec while Golf takes 6.6 sec. There's less difference but the golf R in the test had the dsg gearbox and the 4wd!!! The tester said that the Focus is the best in terms of handling,power and torque followed by the Golf and the renault. I hope you can answer soon!!!Sorry for my english.

I own a new Golf 6 R with DSG..he need 5,5 seconds to 100 km/h..

In June i had a race on our autobahn in germany vs an Focus RS..he had no chance. we both accelerate from 80 to 200 km/h..and i overtake the RS!!

I know some people who have an RS..the most of them have on dyno just 280 horsepower!!

The main thing for a short run 0-100 kmh on a straight road (if the car pass very well the power's engine to the road thanks the wheels of course & it is the case for the both, this Focus RS et the Golf R) is the RATIO 'WEIGHT/POWER" & this of the Golf R is little better than the Focus RS 305HP, explain also this little better result on a run 0-100 kmh
