It is not really a right but we do it anyway. It's our instinct to go for rich food-sources that contain lots of fats or sugars. But because we have a brain and moral intelligence there is no excuse to prevent unnecessary animal suffering. How far you take that concept is off course a more difficult question. For some it is to eat no meat at all. I can understand that even though I am not a vegetarian. It does follow if you take the concept all the way.

There is almost no halal meat produced in North-Western European and many other countries that is fully compliant to the rules in the Hadith (they are not found in the Quran so they are no official Islamic dogma). There are a few full Halal organizations but they have a neglectable client base.
It is the Muslims buying the cheap Halal meat instead of the fully compliant Halal meat that are responsible.
This is only in certain cases though. Many people I know buy meat that costs more than the large supermarkets. I feel disgusted in the fact that this company is passing it off as Halal, it should be closed down as this has NOTHING to do with Halal slaughter.

Prayer has so many rules in the hadiths almost no Muslim does it completely correct but it is still Muslim prayer. There are tens of thousands of hadiths some of them contradicting each other. There are many schools of Islamic law contradicting each other. It is impossible to follow all Islamic rules because they are a big unintelligible verifiable contradictory mess.

There are no rules about it in the Quran as it contains NOTHING on halal slaughter so the rules are dependant on the hadith which cannot be verified to be true as the Isnad system is a joke.
So it is not very important how it is done as it is partly cultural and invented (innovation) outside the Quran anyway.
The animals do bleed out regardless of shooting/stunning or ritual slaughter and the bolt does not carry BSE to hamburger meat so please do not make stuff up.

@LittleQueenTudor The main reason in islam, we dont cut the whole neck of the animals is because, we know the blood of any animals contains all sorts of virus, bacterias etc.. therefore it is necessary to cut on the main jaguar vein and leave the rest intact, so the animal is not brain dead. This way, the brain runs out of blood and ask the body to bring more blood through jagur vein.. but it is cut already so it exits all the blood from the animal body, this way it is less toxic to eat.

All of the animal in this video I can say it is NOT HALAL at all. The CORRECT way to slaughter an animal is first to make them calm. Then gently get the animal lie down and not upside down! That is torture! You can tie the animal legs to prevent them from moving violently. Last step, takbir and slaughter from the down neck and not from upper neck. It is not really a right but we do it anyway. It's our instinct to go for rich food-sources that contain lots of fats or sugars. But because we have a brain and moral intelligence there is no excuse to prevent unnecessary animal suffering. How far you take that concept is off course a more difficult question. For some it is to eat no meat at all. I can understand that even though I am not a vegetarian. It does follow if you take the concept all the way.

There is almost no halal meat produced in North-Western European and many other countries that is fully compliant to the rules in the Hadith (they are not found in the Quran so they are no official Islamic dogma). There are a few full Halal organizations but they have a neglectable client base.
It is the Muslims buying the cheap Halal meat instead of the fully compliant Halal meat that are responsible.

The first cow in the video is shot and is an example of normal slaughter to compare with the torture of halal slaughter that follows after that.
There are tens of thousands of hadiths some of them contradicting each other. There are many schools of Islamic law contradicting each other. It is impossible to follow all Islamic rules because they are a big unintelligible verifiable contradictory mess.

There are no rules about it in the Quran as it contains NOTHING on halal slaughter so the rules are dependant on the hadith which cannot be verified to be true as the Isnad system is a joke.
So it is not very important how it is done as it is partly cultural and invented (innovation) outside the Quran anyway.
The animals do bleed out regardless of shooting/stunning or ritual slaughter and the bolt does not carry BSE to hamburger meat so please do not make stuff up.

Eventually I stopped it by yelling at the guy dragging her away loud enough to catch the attention of a lifeguard. They ended up getting thrown out of the pool permanently. and they went to that pool everyday and messed with people. A couple people actually thanked me for getting them thrown out.

I would never say that all muslims are the same because it's simply not true, you can't generalize any group like that. There are many wise and inspirational muslims, and many good muslim principles. But when I look at all the problems and injustices in the middle east and every other place in the world where islam is practiced, it scares me and I can't help but generalize a bit. and the way a lot of muslims think scares me too, example: you just tried to defend stoning people to death.

I think that this video was put together by non-Muslims for the sake of demonizing Islam and it's followers. First thing, Islam clearly teaches NOT to slaughter animals in from of one another, this is considered a sin. And any Muslims who does so will be held accountable on the day of reckoning. What is this world comming to?? This I will say... I never seen and religious group go through the extent to clear their name like Muslims. Do they have something to hide?? Usually when someone defends like that it's because they know they are wrong. I'm not saying Muslims are wrong however all beliefs let the the good works show for itself therefore allowing Muslim dashers to see that they are loving and peaceful like they claim to be. This is not halal slaughter. Even I who is not a butcher know how halal meat came from. They slaughter the neck and read a little prayer. In the Quran, Allah allow humans to eat cow and lamb meat but not kill it cruelly. In the Quran also prohibit humans from eating pork.

totally agree. This method of killing is no longer necessary when we have the technology to kill the animals quickly, without such fear and dread, and with a minimum of suffering, unlike the sick practise of letting them bleed out slowly over 5-10 minutes.

@LittleQueenTudor The main reason in islam, we dont cut the whole neck of the animals is because, we know the blood of any animals contains all sorts of virus, bacterias etc.. therefore it is necessary to cut on the main jaguar vein and leave the rest intact, so the animal is not brain dead. This way, the brain runs out of blood and ask the body to bring more blood through jagur vein.. but it is cut already so it exits all the blood from the animal body, this way it is less toxic to eat.

Just for the ones who don't know which side is winning this battle: Halal slaughter is going to be BANNED in the Netherlands very soon. Only the Christian parties oppose it and they are a minority so there is nothing left to stop the ban.
The import of Halal meat is also being debated and this may also be banned.
Let's hope more countries will follow soon!
