i bought my laptop pc for $150. it has a dual core 2ghz cpu and 2gb ram. it has only ever crashed once(when i installed itunes). it runs windows 7 ultimate no problems, and plays games better than my friends $2000 macbook pro. also, as windows is a less bulky OS it runs happily on my 2gb ram, my friends macbook pro will use up 4gb ram ON IDLE!!! also, all the BS about macs not getting viruses...LOL why is there a norton for mac then? my pc has never had a virus, and probably never will.

It has potential, but it doesn't use it. And battery life...yeah, maybe if you have a 5400 rpm HD. Put a 7200 in it and it loses most of the battery life.

I googled it, and most macs come standard with a gt 330m or intel hd graphics. Both pale in comparison to their pc counterparts. I used to have a old macbook pro, and it fucking sucked. I used some of my roomates macs and still my acer kicked ass once again.
1. they can have better graphics chipsets in the laptops than macbooks..they require half teh amount of ram to function, are more customizable so that you can have everything work with each other.

goUT25: Bootcamp isn't a emulator. It natively runs Windows.
VMWare and Parallels are not emulators. Use virtualization virtual machine is much faster and approaches native speeds.

Lets face it, The two OS' are pretty much the same with the release of Windows 7. The only difference is hardware. You pay 500+ dollars more for a mac than any comparable Pc but the quality it outstanding you get the best possible service from Apple that you just don't get with ANY Pc manufacturer.

Then have fun with your HP laptop.. at least until you have to make use of your warranty - one of my friends had a broken case since the first month after buying it and a few months later he send it in because of some graphic errors - they didn't want to repair the laptop because some piece of case was broken so they claimed the graphic errors and that broken case were cause by dropping the laptop.

goUT25: Bootcamp isn't a emulator. It natively runs Windows.
VMWare and Parallels are not emulators. Use virtualization virtual machine is much faster and approaches native speeds.
Its funny that you mention speed and menial. Windows 7 still boots slower than 10.5 or 10.6. It must be all that bloatware and DRM shite that you get standard with OS.

There is more than just one OEM so you can't say every company has bad costumer service.
IBM/Lenovo for example is going to fix Laptops within 24hrs at your place. You don`t even have to take your whole Hardware to any store.
But as far as my preference goes.. I like to build my Computer myselv so i know whats inside, i don?t pverpay anything and i dond have to take my 27 inch iMac to any stor just because the CD drive is broken. I simply buy a new drive and install it!

And if you can send me a PC with the top of the line music recording/editing software, I will make a video of me smashing my macbook from the top of the tallest building in Seattle! And PCs for music cost about the same as a mac if not more. My friend uses PC with Win7 for music and he paid 7 grand for his PC plus protools and other software!
