? can you apply it with a paint roller or brush? do you still have to thin it? just had a kayak given to me and has deep scratchs and a few dings down to the fiberglass.if the fiberglass is good and hasn't been touched is it just sanding and re gelcoat?. also, after pacthing dings could you just sand the whole thing and paint a thin cosmatic layer of gelcoat to make it look pretty? whats the hardest part of building a boat? gonna get a few books and giver a go next year.

I am doing ding repairs on a 20ft Melges C Scow fibreglass sail boat, that has been left outdoors for 10 years. I will remove all hardware, make epoxy repairs to hull and top, then sand smooth. I am planning on thinner cleaning it..

Question: Do i need to prime it first? Any paint suggestions?

Depending upon your answer, I will then follow your steps.

Q: How long do i have to wait after applying my mixed Polyester Gelcoat / 40% clear additive / Laquer potion b4 I apply the PVA cure? Thx

One question - I have just bought some Hobie Cat 18's where the hulls needs some repairs - mainly cosmetic - would it be possible ( adviseable ) to actually recoat a complete hull in order to restore it? ( assuming that you are willing to put the hours into it required ) Any comments?
