  • Hi, question. If Tabata circuits are designed to increase an athletes V02max by working at maximum intensity for 20 seconds, is doing strength exercises like really related to that principal? I fully understand the need for circuit training of this nature but is it really in-keeping with the Tabata principal? Your thoughts would be appreciated.

  • @chiefmungomartin You are 100% correct. The only reason I called this workout a tabata workout is because it's 20 seconds on, 10 seconds off, 8 rounds (i.e. the widely known tabata interval format). But true tabata workouts require that you train at 170% of your v02max during the workout intervals.

  • @modeathletics Thanks for your reply. I will say this, having devised similar routines to this myself. Whereas you don't necessarliy get the same aerobic effect it's a great way of getting a good, compact strength and toning workout into a circuit format. I especially like your squat variations in this clip. Respect.

  • Were is your push up variations at? I watched it yesterday and can't find it today.
