perfect music score; beautifully realized place and era; having the time to allow characters, situations and scenes (including gorgeous pastoral shots) to develop; top notch acting; and that sparkling wit sprinkled throughout the movie and you have this, my fav AC adaptation.
sorry but i don't agree lol.// Geradine is the best by far..can't stand the cold heartless joan hickson... no thanks... although the best Ms Marple was Margaret Rutherford.
@bronteteri I must say, I don't see this compassion that you speak of. Geraldine's Marple is sly, almost vulpine. She's always happy when there's a murder because it gives her a chance to show how clever she is. Marple isn't supposed to be like that, she's supposed to be someone who deeply disapproves of crime and who seems dotty and simple. Joan and Julia Mackenzie both portray her like that, although of the two Julia is a more compassionate and warm Marple.
@bronteteri -- Joan Hickson's "Miss Marple" does smile, albeit rarely. But then she's investigating murder, which isn't pleasant. And she rarely shows compassion because she doesn't know whether the person to whom she's speaking is the murderer.
I thought that too earlier because she kept stopping bunny from talking and she was a bit mean to her when she had been talking to Miss Marple in the coffee shop. Course no idea why she would be the murderer.
superb, i've left a message at 18/18, but the moment joan hickson realises the lamp fusing the lights is pure excellence, you can see the realisation in her face. this, for me is the best scene in this play.
Some sorry soul has gone through these adding a 'dislike.' What kind of a person goes to the trouble?

@bronteteri I agree with you 100% but I think we are in the minority. Geraldine was flawless as well as Margaret.

In the book, the cat's name was Tiglath Pilesar. I prefer Delilah. Haha!

@poynterch Strange name for a cat. I mean, why, why, WHY Delilah?

3:36 and 4:04 - "flex" is "flex cord", a flexible electrical cord that's used to power lamps, appliances, etc.
