I bought the 2nd one 1.5 months ago. two weeks later, i finshed it. then i bought the first one. Both of them were riveting. i suggest you play the 2nd one 1st then the 1st one. I CANT WANT FOR THIS ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I actually recommend the complete opposite, get the first one and then get the second one. That way the plot will be in chronological order when you play it, and you'll have a more fun time enjoying the two games (If you play the second one first then you play the first one, while you're playing the first Phoenix Wright then you already know everything that's going to happen which takes away from the overall experience)

In response to lilacbird, the mask is a reference to japanese culture. When they get sick, they refrain from doing anything that might pass their germs on to others. The mask is something you would wear if you're out in public and have a cold or a persistant cough.
