I think BLM can out DD SCH! I've never seen a SCH break the 2k mark in damage in XI. But SCH is cool.

@richieshane1984 yea, blm can out-dmg. I know b/c I have sch and blm @75 altho with merit capped ele magic a few bit here and there I've been able to out nuke blms in dyna quite a few times, thx to klimaform + weather and eblubrence (sorry bad spelling) altho for consistancy high nuke dmg blm is unbeatable. I can hit upto 1.2~1.3k dmg with blizIv on sch that the best I've done (blizIV b/c of stormsurge and HQ staff that adds +15 ele skill +15 MaB +15 Macc) with as much int+ as I could

@turrel01 I just get irritated with SE because I spent all this time getting BLM and WHM to 75 on my taru just so they could turn around and make SCH! Lol. They give SCH everything now pretty much and they're quicker at casting and more MP efficient. It made me mad! Lol. The only thing WHM or BLM can hold onto now is slightly more damage for BLM and a little better at buffing and healing on WHM. And now that they raised the level cap SCH will be able to use haste and refresh so goodbye RDM!

sch can easily beat a RNG. mages>none it's simple, really. that's why ffxi pvp wasn't meant to be 1on1.../sigh. people do this and cry unbalanced when in reality it's one of the most balanced pvp out there.

Pretty cool video. I never actually seen a SCH in "fight" mode ... only seen SCH's used for enfeeble/heal/buff's really. Nice to see a SCH can hold it's own lol.

I used to play FFXI but quit before the new expansion came out. Whats the difference between a scholar and a BLM? they look pretty much the same. Was thinkin about playing it again but was curious if I could buy expansion or not (if it was worth it)

first off Scholar is not the same as BLM, WTM, or even RDM

Scholars are tactical mages so You're going to be able to change the magic you use to fit diff. situations.

if the party doesnt need healing, enhance them. if they're hurt, heal. if the enemy is weak, nuke. if the enemy is strong use dark magic to weaken.

& SCH have weather spells that can strengthen certain properties of other spells & with the AoE spells with blm & wtm magic it comes in handy
