We learnt how to play this in orchestra a few days ago. When we first got it, my friend and I had such a hard time xDD Ironically, by Friday, we could play just as fast our viola players (who, two of them, are very talented).
The ending would've been nice if it had a vibrato. Not throughout the whole last note; maybe just before you ended, you know?
@Crumblehop Haha That's awesome! I love jigs...probably more than any classical piece I've ever played. Well, unless the song was incredibly fast. lol
violin, cello, bass, and guitar, lemme tell ya that THAT was quite the awesome quartet, (combined with fellow Blue Lakers encircling you and clapping to the song and 1 or 2 guys actually dancing a jig)
haha funny with all the people telling ya'll to slow it down but traditionally that kind of music was only played slow when played for dancers, but if a group was going to play it on their own or just for listeners they would go as fast as they felt like
I love this tune and in my opinion, you did a great job with it ! Love the way you play it, love when it's fast ! Love when people find a way to add their own original touch on traditionnal stuff !
Okay, I'm sure they know it's faster than the traditional tune. Clearly, they were going for a different style. Stop telling them to slow it down. There's no law that states you have to play a tune at the original speed. Christ, people. Leave a little room for creativity, would you?
u skipped the first part where it goes e hooked then d hooked then accent! and its not accompanied by guitar its piano and yes i know how to play it! its my recital solo and its not that fast!!
Wow, don't be married to an arrangement, these trad tunes are meant to be enjoyed, not that learning a typical arrangement is bad, but explore others too. I know this tune in 3 keys, with different runs that I can play in all 3. And as far as accompaniment and tempo, anything goes really.
Ya, I play really fast for just whatever. There are many many different variations of this song too you know. It is an Irish tune, and usually nobody cares what the heck you pair it with.
srry about tht! i was actually a little bit nervous at the time and is was kinda confusing with my teacher stopping at some point. but yeah i kinda messed up in the beginnings cuz i was trying to not concentrate on the babbling crowd. we had an essay in strings though. it was fun. they tortured us by making us watch it again!! :'( embarassing!
what are you a douche bag? it is a fucking trad song, there is many interpretations of all the pieces. that is what is beautiful about this kind of music
Excellent job, everything was perfect, your pace was really good too!!! How do you do it? Could you send me a copy of the music? thnx :) I also want to try it out!
i just started learning this song earlier today, my fiddle teacher can play at maybe 5 times faster than its played here. he is amazing, he's mastered almost every stringed instrument there is, and he has released several albums
im sorry i was logged in using argorn's account, that was actually emoman95 who wrote the above comment. and sorry argorn, but i didn't notice until now.
I'm learning this right now. Playing three times round. AA BB A-B That's how I'm learning it. With the guitar wasn't that great but you were amazing on the guitar. :D
I can play that song and ive been playing violin for about 5 years now i learned it like 3 years ago let me guess fiddelers philharmonics? such an easy song st anne's reel is a bit harder you should try it
Ooh you guys are good! I play viola, and can play that song too. It's fun to see how fast you can play it without messing up. One time I played it insanely fast, like twice that fast, and I've been trying to do it again ever since and I keep messing up =(
This sounds amazing to me cause I'm bad at violin right now. But people don't realize, even if it is supposed to be played fast. It actually sounds mysteriously cool while played really slow
I love this song. When I play it, I usually change up the B section by removing all slurs, and on the quarter-note-E-then-eighth-note-F#, I just make it an E with a G and F# for two grace notes.
Wait... That's how fast it goes?! God, I have to go faster... D:
