I love this!! doing it right now.... first time! a little confused though ... in the video you say 3 hdc in first 2 loops but written instructions say 4 hdc in 1st and 6 hdc in 2nd. does it make a difference
@mallorymakeup88 There is flexibility with this project. You can choose the size petals you want to use and how long/large you want to make your flower.
Thank you so much for taking the time to record all of these helpful videos. I'm just beginning to knit and crochet and I've searched through lots of YouTube videos but yours are all so great. You take your time and your video is very well done. I can follow along with you and the results are great. I made this flower the other night for a hat I knitted on a loom. I can't wait to see it on my granddaughter. Thank you again for all of your hard work. I'll be watching your other videos.
At first I didn't understand you since its my first time but now I am really making progress with your GREAT tutorials. I agree with others that you should keep the tutorials coming. My aunt is also learning from you and she has made great products watching your videos. All the best!
I made a baby blanket and it's too small for a regular baby blanket, doesn't cover baby, so it's more of just something to place on her crib to look cute and warm her legs in the car seat but i made 3 flowers of different sizes and placed them on the corner. :) She likes to chew on them.. Just thought I'd add my story. Lol.
Love this flower, but I am having trouble finding the pattern to finish the flower after pedal 7. I don't crochet as fast as you do and need the printed pattern.
@tjw1963 Thank you so much for recording your talent and sharing it with us. I am so grateful I found you because I can relate to your method of teaching and I love your voice. It's so calming and I need calming, especially when I'm stressing. That is why I chose crochet because it is like meditation. I find myself anticipating to pick up my yarn and needle, though I don't know yet what to do with it. LOL I believe after you, I will learn in no time. Thanks again!
sooo cute i am putting the one i made from the video on a current blanket i am working on let me know if there is one video for those headbands i have been seeing now that its cold they have a flower on the side with a button on the back to secure it wide in front smaller in back let me know kk
I created the cutest flower cap for an infant using your crochet baby cap instructions and this flower, it is flower pot like. Not sure how to upload just a picture for you to see but thank you for all the wonderful ideas. :D
I have been knitting for years but wanted to learn how to crochet. Thanks so much for the great tutorials. I've made several of your flowers now and particularly like this one, have made my second one now. I find crochet patterns so difficult to follow ( am only used to knitting patterns) but the tutorials make these so simple. Many thanks again!!
Thank you once again Teresa, I now made this beautiful flower. It feels wonderful to be able to make things that you can wear and use. It is all thanks to your generous time. You mentioned to put up a pic or video stream of our work..I was just about to ask how and now see the 'create a video response' link. so i will do in the next few days. You and your videos are awesome. Thank you for being such a generous person. All the best. Bernadette @--%--- That is meant to be a rose. I tried :)

i love this hat i made the kingston hat u showed us and then added this flower to it and all of my friends now want one lol...love love love the way u teach us all.. also i have only be crocheting for about 6 months and have learnt and abundant amount from your videos
Hello! Thanks for sharing this tutorial =D your flowers are so beautiful!!
I would like to do the white one but i don´t understand how to grow up the petals (sorry for my poor english) because the first ones are with double crochet and then triple crochet, and so on but how many should I need to do of each one?? i hope you can undestand me =(
Thank you so much for this video! I'm making a couple of these in red and sewing them onto green stems that I crocheted in green. It'll turn out to be a bouquet of roses that I'm giving to my mom tomorrow for Mother's Day. I love all your videos, thanks once again!
Thanks for showing us how to do it! I only know how to stitch so when I know how to quadruple stitch, slip stitch and stuff like that I will defiantly be doing this for my first project! X
thank you for showing me how to make these flowers i will use them on my crochet hats that i just learned to make awesome illustration its also teaching me how to crochet better thanks so much
Thank you so much..,.that will be a stop on my shopping trip this week. I appreciate your help and as I said before your videos are AWESOME..they are extremely detailed and take into consideration a "slow learner" as I am :-)
hi teresa..i m almost through with this flower..but you havent mentioned as to what we have to do in the last 2 chain space..please let me know...infact..i have 3 chain space left..please advice what should be done in those..written instructions would be fine...thanks a lot..
Excellent video..thanks much for taking the time to do it..one quick question..can you tell me where you purchased your hook grip? I have arthritis in my hands and this looks like it might help my grip. thanks..Emmy
I'm really sorry because I see how a lot of people did this and it turned out well. But in truth, this was really hard to understand, and thats kind of upsetting because I really like this flower. I think it's because I can hardly see what you're doing because the camera is so zoomed in and you're working at the very bottom of the video so most of what you do is hardly on camera. I'm sorry, I'm really not trying to be offensive, I'm just sad that I can't make the flower. ='(
@tjw1963 No wait! I think I figured it out, I tried this a couple times and I couldn't figure it out, then I realized that I was turning it wrong! I thought it was supposed to work circularly but I guess it's supposed to be in rows, lol if you know what I mean. Sorry for the trouble and thanks! I use a lot of your tutorials and I really like them. =D

Awesome Video! I've been wanting to make some crochet flowers and this was the best one I found. Looks great!!! And with all your detail, made it so easy to follow! Thanks so much!!!
Thank you so much! This is by far the best crochet flower video I have seen! I got it right on the first try...all due to your crystal clear explanation :) I plan on using this flower on Coffee Kozies, Hats and Sweaters! You're the best!
If anyone is curious, I ended up making a flower with a button in the middle for a headband and did 4 petals using a double crochet stitch, 6 with triple, and 5 with quadruple. I think it turned out pretty well. :)
I learned a lot of different stitches from this video and the basics of making flowers but I hadn't realized that after going through this video that I wouldn't have a flower I would like because of all the different stitches used. =/ Overall good and helpful video though..
You go too fast for a beginner to understand what exactly you are doing. Plus half the time I can't see what your hands are doing. You need a better camera angle.
@dananbell -The angle is perfect, it is exactly the one you need to learn because it is exactly the way you should be looking down at your own hands when you crochet!! believe me, try to learn this way and you'll thank teresa later :d happy crochet!
ok if people would just put a little more attention to your video they would notice that most of their questions are already addressed.....but instead of reviewing they choose to make comments that make you wonder if they should be crocheting....lol. Anyhow, please do not let these few people with learning disabilities to discourage you...there are many many of us that think you are doing an absolutely wonderful job!
Great video! I made the flower as I followed along...I love the way you hold your yarn in your left hand. Anyway, I just had to tell you that I really enjoyed making my red flower. I'm attaching it to the side of a narrow headband. Thank you! I hope to see more of your videos.
@puffyjo I hope that beginner crocheters will visit my main channel page for easier projects and basic instructions. I will always send the beginner playlist when someone asks.
thanks you so much i made a very beautiful flower for my hat. i made it for the hat that i learn from you. you know the kingston hat.thanks you very much and im looking forward to learn a new thing from you too in the future.
how do you decide whether to do, say 3 triple crochets in one spot, and then 6 in then next? is it because of space requirements or is it just aesthetic choice?
I have a similar pattern but it isn't slinky, it is a long chain with flower shells sewed together by a long thread at the end. I can't figure out how to sew it together, however! Help!! Have you done a pattern like that too? I am so stuck. lol
Hi can you please make a vidoe showing how to make a sweater i am making a sweet swaeter for my fisrt baby which is comming xxx i will be thankful if you teach me I am
Yes I would like to attach this to your baby hat that I will make. Also you mentioned a beginner playlist, can you send it to me? :) Love your tutorials
I don't read patterns for the life of me... much more of a visual person... This video was super easy, and it was EXACTLY what I was looking for. I posted my very first video EVER as a response just to show how it turned out. Thank you Thank you!
I love this!! doing it right now.... first time! a little confused though ... in the video you say 3 hdc in first 2 loops but written instructions say 4 hdc in 1st and 6 hdc in 2nd. does it make a difference

malako0oh 1 year ago
@malako0oh i think she said to chain 31 in the beginning, she only counted to 10 and skipped to chain 31.
whitekitty02 1 year ago
@malako0oh I do not show the whole flower. What I am showing are petal segments. You can pick and choose which ones you want on your flower.

how do you decide whether to do, say 3 triple crochets in one spot, and then 6 in then next? is it because of space requirements or is it just aesthetic choice?

I have a similar pattern but it isn't slinky, it is a long chain with flower shells sewed together by a long thread at the end. I can't figure out how to sew it together, however! Help!! Have you done a pattern like that too? I am so stuck. lol
