Just to let everyone know John Francis, EI8DL, sadly passed away in February 2008. He was a lovely man and an important member of the amateur radio community in Central and West Ireland. As well as a being a devoted Dad and Grandad. God be good to you EI8DL, we will see you again one day no doubt.
Nice Gear ... Wish I could afford some of those.. I've been off Ham Radio for about 15 years now. Really miss those many years when I use to be active.
Thanks OM for your kind words and congratulations on attaining your own call, look forward to working you sometime.Just a footnote it took 25 years to get my station to this standard.Constant updates and payrises over the years hi hi .I started off with a very basic ft200 from yaesu and cw only. You know sometimes I preffered the old setup.Good luck with your station and there are some real bargains to be had. be lucky to be in the right place at the right time. 73s John EI8DL
ham wise,I am rx only for the time being,I will get set up one day, having a young familly always has to come first along with putting bread on the table,I waited a long time to get my m3,I wanted to do it years ago but chickened out because of the morse requirement,I'm going for the 2e0 soon and this time I'm going to learn morse if it kills me.heheheh. 73's jay m3vpi.
I used to like the Amtor and used the PK232 for that, but you don't seem to hear it any more. Not the ARQ pulsing. I used an FT767 you'd think the constant pulsing on and off would do the relay in but it never seemed to bother it.
Thanks for that mark. The call ei4jd sounds so familiar.?I dont use the 232 now as there is no packet above Mullingar that I know of I used to use packet a lot especially when i lived in London.Yes had a great chat with frank on psk He is 90.I see your address as REdhill in Surrey I have been there a few times as I used to work for securicor. my call in uk was G0myi.Thanks for the comments Mark hope to work u sometime 73s john
