Great upload. Thanks. Oh god how we need Vivian now more than ever. I wonder what he would have made of 'X- Factor' and 'I'm a Celebrity'. We seem to be living in a time devoid of eccentric geniuses. We maybe have one or two in the form of Stephen Fry etc, but political correctness and celebrity obsession have taken our eye so far from reality its hard to see the wood from the trees. RIP Vivian, Keith Moon, Olly Reed, Graham Chapman, Peter Cook etc.. We owe them all a debt of grattitude.
Yes there it is, half a water rat and you'd be surprised that things contain almost as much protein as a bag of peanuts... or indeed a telegraph pole.
Very inventive editing, all the different trains when they're off to Oxford. I like that they tried to keep up with him and not take the easy route of just presenting him as some sort of weirdo.
I got the biography of Viv - Ginger Geezer - when it came out. Do you think he would've appreciated the incongrous juxtaposition of the title with the fact that the cover picture was in black and white?
What a start to the weekend..it's all downhill after this gem. What a gem, a wonderful glimpse into the life and strange times of Viv Stanshall, one of the greatest Englishmen of all time. The delight on his face as he watches the Morris dancers is priceless. I love the clip of Viv running with the Irish Wolf Hound, and then wandering back, content and singing in the sun. God bless you Viv, you brightened my day and reaffirmed my faith in mankind. I wish there were more like you in these times.
I love Viv Stanshall. Thanks so much for this. An absolute gem. I have watched it about 10 times since you posted it. I've finished round the back now I'll make a start on the front...
Thank you for putting this up Mark - Viv and the Bonzos are heroic. I had some Rawlingson records (now nicked) and the Teddy Boys can't Knit (?) release.

Brilliant dude. God he was fucking drunk on the river there....hilarious/poignant scene of him fishing with a beer can on the end of the line.

the picture of Viv's dad looks a little like Pete Doherty in his more structurally sound days
