  • didn't realize at the time what a great voice we had back then. Judith your in my heart forever!!!

  • Judith Durham has to be the most underrated singer ever. She is a phenomenal singer.

  • Posted two years ago today and over 70,000 views...not bad at all.

  • Très belle interprétation !

    Cependant , j'aime tout autant celle de Peter,Paul & Mary ( RIP) ........

    C'est un autre style .

  • why does this make me cry everytime i listen to it, sighh

  • I have definitely become a Judith Durham and Seekers fan. They were great and she really has a wide ranging, beautiful and unique voice. Just digging the Seekers tunes tonight here on YouTube. I love this one and I'll never find another you, which also is an amazing song in its purity and sincerity and wistful joyfulness.

  • goosebumps are poppin everywhere, beautiful, xxx

  • Judith's voice was a truly a " Gift from God!!! "

  • Great song! (it stimulates, the part of the brain that, deals with emotion)

  • Such a startlingly beautiful voice.

  • Just want to say thank you so much. I miss my dear Dad so much who taught me and my brother ans sisters to love music and 'The Seekers', more than any other group bring him and that back to me.

  • hoodoovalley! I'm so glad that you are wrong here.I'm amazed at the youngsters that listen to our ol-timers music. And they l;ove it!!!!

  • This is the only song I've heard from the Seekers where Judith Durham actually gets up into head voice. She clearly preferred to use the power and timbre of her chest voice, which was incredible, but in this you can get an inkling of what she could have done as an operatic soprano.

I know she didn't want to do that, and that is to be respected. Still, I'd really have liked to have heard her account of, say, "O, mi babbio caro".

  • I have traveled all over the world in my life and heard some of the greatest singers from pop, country ,rock ,folk but i have to say that truly judiths voice has the intonation of one of the finest VOICES.....that has ever come out of the 60s that i ever heard truly a gifted singer!!!!!!

  • Amazing voice!

  • Another You and World of Our Own have some pretty low lead notes in them and this song has pretty high notes throughout. She must have had a 4 octave range and solid as a rock all the way. She and the boys had/have the most unique and pleasing sound, among the very best, and will never be topped or copied.

  • Back when a girl's voice was more important than how much you look like a slut for video's.

  • Just unbelievable. Im 56 yet wanting to research them more. Great songs. Interstingly, it looked like she never had to strain to get the music out. It just happened!

  • its amazing that anyone could dislike this. Judith's voice is beautiful

  • I love this song so much, reminds me of the life i had as a young boy in africa, I love the 60's music xxx

  • goosebumps...speechless :)

  • This song is magical, in its own right. It's been recorded by countless artists - PPM, Kingston Trio, Johnny Rivers, etc., etc., and even a modernized rendition by The Hooters (on u-Tube, and wonderful, check it out). The incredible thing is the song suits itself to whatever "hook" the artist has, in this case, the beautiful vocals. Do a You Tube search for 500 Miles and check it out........

  • Thank You. I do not usually sit still for music but this an exception. This penetrates and deep very deep. They need to pipe this into recording studios across the country and use it as a standard. Only those with real talent could hope to achieve anything close. The rest would hang their heads in shame and find another profession if honest.

  • wow, I don't think I've heard this song for almost 10 years...

  • wow!!

  • Oh my god this is beautiful. What a voice.

  • @hoodoovalley I agree with you.

  • Judith can sing high or low she can sing jazz , folk , rock, gospel, from the heart and some fun songs too, her talent is unequaled, and for almost 50 years, she has sung with the voice of an Angel. she is and will always be my angel of music

  • @meeee526 Damn , what a voice !!!

  • @meeee526 Couldn't have put it better myself.

  • @meeee526 Well said, she does have an incredibly pure voice...so pure. ♥

  • Never heard Judith's upper register. She's vocally solid from top to bottom and is, in my opinion, an outstandingly expressive singer. I love the sense of spirit she brings to everything she sings...

  • Wonderful, I didn't know she/they did this. There is a single male voice at times. Is that Bruce?

  • The lone male voice at about 1:40 on is Bruce Woodley.

  • Judith's very high notes here are amazing. Was she soprano?

  • @grimTales1 quite possibly, or a mezzo-soprano

  • It's great that she can maintain those very high notes. the lads are just the kind of fellows I knew in college.

  • Just Beautiful! Judith's unmistakable - wonderful voice! Thanks for posting!

  • And The Boys' unmistakable harmonies...
