  • Two of my favourite musicians together, it couldn't be better.

  • EARTHBOUND STARBLIND........TIED TO SOMEONE.......

  • WRITING SONGS WITH THIS MUCH DIRE BEAUTY .......is only possible after surviving having your heart ripped out and sent through a chipper shredder. This is possibly one of the most potent pieces of music EVER written, and that is saying something. Thank you David for finding a way to translate what is virtually beyond words.......ABSOLUTELY BORDERS ON THE SACRED...........

  • @STONEBEADMAKER I could not agree more or have worded it so well.

  • Fripp's Guitar Sounds So Romantic!!

  • Atmosfera divina...

  • Me eleva al mas alla...

  • Magico tessuto di tastiere per un'atmosfera sospesa..e la voce unica di Sylvian..bellissima!

  • Wow what an amazing performance! Is there a dvd available of the whole concert? Greetz from Holland

  • one of my favorites!

  • god bless this gifted man.

is the amount of pain in him one of highest proportions he is writing the loveliest songs. damage is one his finest.

  • David is THE ANGEL WHO FELL TO EARTH.

  • superb

  • and the damage is done...

what a lyrics! what the musicians!!! what the fuck!!! it's perfect!

  • As much as I love Adrian Belew I always wonder what Crimso would have been like if Sylvian had accepted the job. That being said, this song is absolutely, heartbreakingly gorgeous.

  • @PNFLDYS Wow. Adrian Belew - my thoughts exactly - but things turned out JUST the way they were meant to. We got both Belew AND Sylvian. Am I in Heaven? You must simply LOVE "Two Hands" and "Heartbeat" by Crimson... do you know the song: "I pitty inanimate objects" by Godley & Creme (of 10cc) - check that out - very cool "mood"... Enjoy.

  • @elliveproductions I am very familiar with Godley and Creme. I may only be 26 but I was blessed with a father with amazing musical taste and knowledge.

  • this is genius and love, so grateful a friend turned me on more to David. So identifiable. xox(hey you SPC)

  • I am a big fan of Tony. Last time I listened him was in BCN (my town) He plays with Pat Mastelotto (Drums) and M. Bernier (stick/voice/ad. Drums) on his project:Stick Men. They played before "Porcupine Tree".

In fact there are many musical relations between Tony, Fripp, Belew (well, all KC)

and PT (St. Wilson, R. Barbieri, C.Edwin and G.Harrison) Now I listening "Upper Extremities", a great work by Bruford / Levin with Torn and Botti. I like too "Double espresso" (Live) and "Prime Cuts". Salud!

  • The most touching voice in my book.

  • @unlikeanyotherhuman

    But both are Chapman' genious!

  • One of the most devastating songs ever...

  • it is.... got goosebumps and chill when listening

  • what an amazing deep song.i expect no less from our david.a true one off and so understated.genius

  • No that's Trey Gunn on Chapman Stick!

  • unlikeanyotherhuman....I know how that hurting feels...You do come through it!!

I believe us humans only feel a small part of a more powerful and deep love that we cannot comprehend. Trust in this love!!

If you have love inside you then you will attract love from others. Socialise and have fun. You will Love again!

    Take care

  • just incredible, music to fly over pain

  • The most beautiful song I have ever heard. Incredibly romantic and sad...such a deep sense of loving in his lyrics. Thank you to the man that I will always deeply love for sending it to me.

  • I have 2 CD`s of the album Damage, are there more?

  • Are any of your's the 22carat gold versions

  • not that I know of, what are these?

  • This version is available on the live album Damage

  • Have been a Sylvian fan for years but only just heard this.

WOW....Gorgeous... This is how Love feels....In Love and ...lost Love!!

    XX

  • Looking for Exposure for my exposure trilogy on facebook

  • I went to this concert alone and hearing this song brought tears to my eyes. It still does all these years later.

  • (COMMENT THIS VIDEO)

  • sublime!!!

  • LOVE

  • Nagyon Szép!!!Lélekhez szóló nóta!

  • bol..

  • Let's not forget Michael Brook on guitar. :)

  • One of the best songs I've heard in my life.I love it.

  • Beautiful!!

  • Sorry to disagree partly: it was Pat Mastelotto on drums (and other stuff) during this tour - even if he does not appear on this particular track. Which is - I absolutely agree - wonderful!

  • Brilliant.

    Such an emotion.

  • Out-of-this-world!!!

    So beautiful !!

  • This is one of the most majestic and melancholy songs I've ever heard. Damage...this is a song I'd have at my funeral. So beautiful...gorgeous...emotional.

  • I heard this song for the first time during a performance in Amsterdam, way back in the 90ties. Sylvian played it as an encore, and I was really swept of my feet (chair), for the simplicity and beauty of this song. Mind you, this song only gets its strength from Sylvian's voice. I don't think anyone else could achieve this impact...

  • Hey, nog een Nederlandse fan?? Know the feeling, hoorde dit ook voor het eerst in Eindhoven. Blijft zo ontzettend goed!

  • Zie mijn eerder commentaar, verkeerd gepost.

  • just go and kill me now david, ... such beautiful realizational sadness.

  • Beautiful ♥

  • Possibly the best Sylvian ballad, and was astounding in the Albert Hall show. If only there was an official DVD compilation of live and studio solo work...

  • I totally agree, saw him in the Royal Albert Hall too, from a lonely box. We just have to make do with these remnants...

  • this song is pretty beautiflul...

  • I love this song is amazing. I saw them in concert when they came to London, doing this album,

    just brilliant.

  • did they do a song called something like ' a dash of bourbon' ?? heard it once on the radio great tune :)

  • I believe the song you're thinking of is "Jean The Birdman"...

...Search though my videos here to see it!

  • that's it thanks.must have had drink on my mind at the time ! or drunk :)

  • its a great name for a song though!

even better than jean the birdman

  • I have this on a CD called Damage. It appears to be a live version though.

  • Sigh. here I am again heartbroken.

  • Ethereal and beautiful, him and the song. Have loved him forever . . .

  • It's from the CD Damage by Sylvian/Fripp. Don't forget Robert Fripp's in there!

I saw the show in Manchester. A truly wonderful experience where we sat and listened and appreciated the music and applauded at the end. How I despair for my kids watching X Factor when everyone's screaming and clapping 10 seconds into the song ;o)

  • Oh lucky, lucky you Maxiclaudi. I've adored

DS for too many years. Such a pretty boy: now

a beautiful man. Sometimes I ache inside for

him. Pretty juvenile for a 49 year old woman.

    But I can dream...

  • Now a mature man and he just improves with age

Lord I'm happy he's married. Just wish it could have been me. I think I'm his most loyal

fan in the world. 33 years and still listen to

him every day. And this song is intensely per-

sonal as well. Know much about loss? I'm the

queen mother of loss. Death, abandonment.

No wonder I became a groupie: you know you're

getting exactly one night. And that's all I

    ever wanted.

  • I saw him live in the Royal Albert Hall then, just around the corner from where I lived in 1982-1983, and he and his other cronies from Japan then..

  • he could have easily done that in the studio in one take just like that. He is trully talented. It's funny, if he entered anything like the x factor or pop idol, I bet they wouldn't have put him through, even though he is one of the most wonderful singers. That's how stupid music has got these days.

  • btw: the live version supercedea the studio version! I live in the US, and he is virtually unknown here...probably why he lives here now.

But even When he was a "prettyboy" he was very

deep.(Think about what his contemporaries at

    the time were singing about.)

Still listening 33 yrs later, and he sounds

as fresh to me now as he ever did.

I hate to adnit it, but yanks are truly taste-

less and clueless where good music is concerned. But surely NOT ALL?

  • There isn't actually a released studio version of this song...

  • well, either way who needs a studio version? this is perfection as it is! not much else you can do with it.

  • Indeed, it's an incredibly moving song...

  • Amen and amen.

  • Yes, you're right. My brother has most of the studio versions, and I got the boxed ltd. edition with the golden disc: not that I disbelieved you, it just gave me an excuse to call him. We live so far apart, and it was nice to speak w/ him!

  • What a great video. One of the most moving songs he ever made in my opinion. I was wondering if i could buy a copy somewhere? Unable to find it anywhere online

  • I have this whole show on DVD, a direct rip from the laser disc.

  • mille merci pour cette magnifique chanson...tout est dit... oui cela serait vraiment génial de trouver un jour l'ensemble de ce concert en dvd.

  • made me cry again...beautiful...

does anyone know where (if) i could buy a video of entire road to graceland tour??

  • So many Sylvian songs are so beautiful....This is one of many that makes my tears appear. He's now, after all these years coming to Norway, and of course I have my ticket ready!!!

  • I cannot stand the thought that i didnt see any concert from this tour...:---(

    And the damage is done...

  • beautiful.

  • this song is pretty beautiflul... I love it *dreamin'*

  • mooi mooi mooi

  • Still tears roll from my eyes when I hear this. Beautiful!

  • any one knows were can i find the full concert?

  • haqve you found it yet

    please let me know

    franco

  • in any cd store i`´s name is DAMAGE

  • My God, this is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. Thank you!

  • Hey moodyb, is it my imagination or did you have posted once the track 'Wave' taken fro this same concert? It's awesome, as is this. Thanks anyway, this is quite simply sublime.

  • Muscial art nice ....now back to ZZ TOP

  • There is more indeed...I also have "Bling LIght of Heaven " up here frm this concert.

I'll add more if I have some free time!

  • Ahhh... Oh, bliss! Spot on, Anekdoten -- what a beautiful track. Thanks for sharing. Was regretably miles away from this tour at the time.

  • Thanks again for memories of a great tour! CBC-FM broadcast some of the Toronto show, including "Exposure", and a Sylvian interview.

  • One of the most beautiful songs ever made.. thanks for giving me the chance to see this video!

  • Awesome

  • thanks, this brings back great memories of a great tour.
