  • Google might take this shit down cause of how many prank calls and scams their are going around. Since the calls can't be traced its an act of terrorism so google act fast and take it down!

  • i cant call anyone =.=

  • Can someone clear my concern up:

Is using GV for texting as good as using your phones normal texting feature?

  • I Expected *Drums* "This Episode Of Film Riot-"

  • Its not available in India

  • siri rules!!!

    P.D: bitch

  • Pfft, AT&T Crap

  • Wish there was still a real dailer app, I cannot find one in the market. I literally want it to not touch my voicemail, or route any of my calls. I only want to be able to open a separate dialer for when I am making landline calls to call through gvoice. Anyone else find a solution here? I now use the widget and switch it over to GV when I call landlines and switch ti back after.

  • @MtnXfreeride There is a google voice dialer, is actually your standard phone dialer, but you have to download the app "google voice" from the market, after you do that you open the app, and it will ask you if you want to make your standard dialer use your google voice phone number or if you want it to ask you before making a call, if you already have the app, and don't remember seeing this option you can always go to your "google voice" app and press the menu button and you can customize it

  • not in my country Luxemburg oooooo

  • Comment removed

  • Signed up for GV with no issue (have Google+ at this time too). Do you use GV through pc... or through Android phone (I have Verizon)? (Which is better to do?)

  • Stupid Google! Make this shit available in the Netherlands!

  • Okay, so what if I want to do everything via Google Voice, EXCEPT calling my spouse who is on T-Mobile because that call is free. Can I exclude just her number or do I have to have it ask me every single call?

  • as if we dont get enuf adverts you had to force one more on us didnt you

  • T tttt ftftt

  • yeah they hated on apple and att

  • 900800

  • 454

  • LOL I'm with Wind, I get Free texting, local calls, and unlimited internet. Why would I use this when I could get even cheaper international calls with Wind.

  • awesome video. engaging and very well edited. the app is cool too.

  • @Mel2000-look at when this video was made dumbass.

    -.-'

In '09. So months ago is still later than this. Look at the info b4 posting. K.

  • Yjggygggg

  • Alrwokslwlwbe

  • GV has been allowing users to port their cellphone numbers for several months now.

  • Ujh k

  • Speak commands are fast and easy to use! ;)

  • Hey motherfuckers

  • This app is awesome, but iam still witnessing some difficulties in scoring thru.

  • Fcfvggv

  • is calling your house phone and cell phones free?

  • how sad..it's only for US not available in my country

  • what good is google voice if it uses your minutes?

  • @SolidCodec

It does not use your minutes, it uses your data. Google Voice is a "VOIP" application.

  • @2008ChargerSXT yes it does because i checked and my minutes were being used

  • None of will play

  • HEY, !!!THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT!!!

    I have the HTC Evo.

Question: If I use GV to make local phone calls, will those calls appear on my phone bill Call Log?!?!

  • That totally didn't answer the question I had! I have the new Optimus v from virgin mobile. I thought when you used google voice you called through your browser, avoiding using the phones airtime?

  • I skipped the Netflix part because I already have Netflix...lololol.

  • Android will win th phone wars "GO RON" and Google is smarter than every one.

  • Android will win th phone wars "GO RON"

  • unlock all phones --> misophones . com

  • Thanks for the demo! Does Google Voice on T-mobile use the network or the wifi option when calling international phones? Does this work using the MyTouch 4G phone? Which other T-mobile phones would it work with? I'd like to call intenationally from my phone without having to be in a wifi zone. I've also been looking at Skype for this, but I have the same questions. Thanks!!

  • Sweets

  • Have a question......we have Sprint. We have to watch our "landline" minutes. Will routing calls through GV eliminate using Sprint's "landline" minutes on our cell??

  • guess who has the netflix app?

  • A shame it's US only..

  • I have a question. Can I use google voice using only Wifi?

  • @JamaicanIdler yeah think so

  • Really good video and great content.

  • Too bad its only available in the US -_-

  • 0.1

  • wow. i love your accent

  • shit googles awesome.

  • guess who can get the google voice app now!?!?! iphone that who!

  • it seems like people r missing out on the best feature of google voice... FREE TEXTING!!!

  • Ohhh so thats what google voice is... yeah idc... other than saving money on long distance calls if I was gonna get it... JAIL BREAK MOFOS =D (or so I've herd I haven't gone looking, but some people have said its available)

  • Check out the app "SlideIT" theres a free version. Its a great keyboard if you dont have a galaxy s.

  • i have prepaid tmobile unlocked iphone and using gvmobile and still uses my minutes...does anyone not have prepaid and dont get their minutes used

  • I don't know maybe I'm missing something, but isn't this just a redundant app? A side from the text reading aspect, it just seems pointless.

  • @RollingStone000 Free texting.

  • @Stainlesssteele4 Ahhh, good point.

  • @RollingStone000 You can save money by only buying a data plan, then routing everything through GV. That gives you unlimited text and voice through Google plus data for only the price of data.

  • @MaaveMaave my company wont let me get just a data plan. I dont know if any others would either

  • @MaaveMaave Buying only a data plan won't help. Google Voice uses your cell phone minutes. It works by dialing out to Google, then transferring your cal through there system. Every minute your on GV through your mobile phone, 1 minute is used. That is why in the video he says it only saves you on international calls.

  • @JBOPatrick You use callback. Run an SIP client with a service that give free inbound calls like Sipgate or SIPsorcery. I think newer Android builds have a built in SIP client so you can use the native dialer. A callback app, like GV Call Free, will run in the background waiting for outbound calls, and when they happen it has Google Voice call that number using the SIP number as the callback. Your SIP client picks up the call, free because it's inbound from GV.

    Bam, free calling.

  • thats not true u can get google phone 4 iphone if it is jailbroked

  • @piratazul10 that might be true but not many people wanna jailbreak just for that

  • Comment removed

  • @rezjprod

Yes, your mobile minutes are still consumed. It would be neat if GV could somehow use WiFi to make calls when WiFi is available. But that's what Gmail Call does anyway.

  • congrats 4 android BUT if you have a cellphone android why dont you use it to call? this google voice would be great on non cellphones like apple ipod touch 4G right??????

  • ANDROID PRIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • can we make calls thro wifi connection ?????

  • dude, you should totally name as a con that google can follow your calls and everything... and also it's only available in the us (correct me if i'm wrong)

  • does anyone know if you can recieve it as a call if you set up to use only google voice.

or does it only take voicemail?

  • Can u make this work in the uk.

  • 15 people have an iphone! lol

  • Doesnt make any sense...its calling a number...to call a number?...so basically when it calls the number its still adding up your mins with your company while its connected to GV?..seems like a waste..

  • @rezjrprod

Actually, it does make sense in the following cases.

    1) It will use GV rates instead of your cell provider rates for international calls.

    2) It will use VOIP or data plan, not messaging plan for sending SMS messages.

  • @SuspectUsual you mins are still going because you connect to their number...

  • @rezjrprod

every call gets routed one way or another

  • This was a great idea, until I started using GV. The quality is horrific! 9 out of 10 calls can't be understood by the other person. I also get some unconnected calls.

I want this to work, I really do... Hope it gets better.

  • is google voice and google talk the same thing?? :?

  • @rinolope // Google Voice and Google Talk are different. But you'll get the SMS from GT, too.

  • when using google voice, can you call using your normal number and still have google voice running just for texting?

  • Get this to EUROPE!

  • super awesome especially now that you don't need an invite.

  • 1:34 dubby dubby dubby

  • you need an invite or rbe aproved by google to get google voice and it takes prlly 2 weeks but it was way worth it

  • @EvanXgamesskater not any more nayone can sign up now. google voice is awsome!!!!!

  • LOL, great review. Just signed up with Google Voice now.

  • Seems like a great idea. Just bring it out in Australia already! Also, you need to move your teleprompter up so it's looks like you're actually looking in to the camera.

  • Once US Cellular gets Android phones they have free incoming calls so you'll save money with any calls.

  • The editor is a flaming faggot.

  • @disbuylshite Agreed

  • Google is the best for people who likes to use Text messages

  • I don't like the apps for android, games are not as detailed either , which is a shame, i've been debating whether to buy an iphone or android phone for a while now.

  • @Exesta You best stick with the iPhone boy. Leave the big kids alone with their real phones

  • @disbuylshite i ain't got an iphone, im debating an iphone orrrrrr an android phone

  • @Exesta Songs as Ringtones If none of these things matter to you then go iPhone • Games • Any flash support • Instant Messaging • Picture messages (MMS) • Video recording • Voice recognition or voice dialing • Wireless Bluetooth Stereo Streaming (A2DP) • One-size-fits-all headset jack (May have to buy an adapter for certain headphones) • 3G (EV-DO/HSDPA) • GPS • A real keyboard • Removable battery • Expandable Storage • Direct iTunes Music Store Access (Over Wi-Fi or EDGE)
  • @disbuylshite Games - can get them for any phone Flash support - no but it will come instant messaging - can get that for any phone Video recording - All phones Wireless bluetooth & streaming - Pointless to me and most others headset jack - yeah good point but not the end of the world 3g all phones gps most smart phones real keyboard all smart phones removeable battery - doesn't matter expandable storage - doesn't matter unless u don't have a pc itunes - who pays for stuff? lol
  • @Exesta Droid. Trust me.

  • well if you arent going to save money on domestic calls..... why bother!?!?!

  • Download this app!

    Then your screwed...

But thats okay, your probably used to it.

  • Hey here is my review on Google Voice.

    webupon(DOT)com/search-engines/google-voice-review/

  • Man oh Man! does this guy talk like a girl or what! Talks at a million miles per hour.

  • i was invited a couple days ago. no numbers in my area yet, but google voicemail is really cool

  • I actually got my invite in 2 weeks. I received it this week. So I guess they are giving invites faster

  • Android Pride!

  • the intro is funny! hahahahha

  • I downloaded the app on my backflip. The only thing I know it does is say, the name of the person calling me, in my contacts, or their number if they're not.

  • Just to clarify...he says it's VoIP...it's not. Calls make/received using GV number use your carrier's network and minutes will be counted. However, GV number to GV number calls ARE free...or at least that's what I'm told on the forums. As for SMS, they may be free using the Android app, but they are NOT free using the Blackberry app, so be careful.

  • i soo tired of waiting for damn invite from google and i wanna use it on my G1 droid....it isnt free being ya got buy ya way in or wait forever to get invited

  • u should try the app phone my pc...

    its 9.99

but i can giv u the app for free...

  • how send me a message

  • How long does it take for google to respond?

  • depends mention you have an android phone and it tends to be faster. especially if you have a nexus one.

  • very quick

  • Netflix sucks...

  • Why does Google go so hard?

  • Easy, they're awesome

  • @Sotorious Viagra.

  • Google Voice only available in US right now.. Zzzz

  • Google Voice sounds kinda useless...

  • Google Voice call quality sucks balls. 80% of the time I've used it, it's echoy, or stuttery.

  • you called through GVoice? How? Google hasn't implemented Gizmo5 yet.

Currently, when you call someone over Gvoice, you are calling through your carrier, no Gvoice.

So the shuttering was bad signal or bad carrier.

  • @HerrBismarck

Gvoice has been working (crappily) for quite a while.

  • That is strange. I use it for my calling (well, forward call. As I said before, you can't actually call through it) and it is perfect.

Do you get the same shutter without it?

  • @HerrBismarck

No. The voice quality on my service is just fine, when I'm not receiving a call via gVoice.

  • Well that's weird. Sorry about that.

  • Google Voice has absolutely implemented Gizmo, several months ago in fact. When you add a new number, "Gizmo" is one of the options in the pull down menu. You can then place a call with Google Voice and it'll ring your Gizmo number.

  • That is not implementation. When you use Gvoice, Google calls your phone, then calls then other person's and then connects you. It does it through a voice network.

But Google bought Gizmo5 a while back and people are expecting that Google will implement the Gizmo5 features into Gvoice (so that you can actually call from your GV number).

If that is to happen, you will no longer need a voice plan or a txt plan, just a data plan.

  • What part of my post confused you? You place the call with Google Voice, it dials your Gizmo number. No voice plan required, the entire call is placed over the internet. You can absolutely use Google Voice with only a data plan right now.

  • You CAN use your Gizmo5 number with GV, but that's just because Gizmo gives you a number. I don't have a Gizmo number, and I cannot get one because Google bought Gizmo5 (and they are not allowing new accounts for now).

Google will "merge" GV and Gizmo5 so the only thing that you need is GV to make calls with you GV number ONLY.

I know you can use it, but that is not implementation. That's just a work-around.

So again, I can't wait for Google to implement Gizmo into GV.

  • When I get the Nexus ONE, this is the first App I'm getting (then, google sky).

  • @HerrBismarck Thankfully, Google Voice is actually preinstalled on the Nexus One!

  • Yeah, I didn't know when posted this.

Already got my Nexus! (575$ because I have a family plan).

Now I'm just waiting for Gizmo5 to be implemented.

  • I was about to buy an iPhone, SO GLAD I GOT THE MOTO DROID INSTEAD!!!!! YAY!!!

  • I have an iPhone. I have a Google Voice account. As much as I love Apple, denying this app was a major mistake on their behalf. They make the hardware for the iPhone, so what do they care if people don't use AT&T as much? They didn't deny the Skype app. Shrugs.

  • Hopefully future versions of Android will integrate better with google voice.

  • ¬_¬

Maybe it's just me or does it sound annoying every time he says "Google" -_-

This seems like an awesome app...

    but useless to me ._.

  • if anybody has and extra invite they would send me I would greatly appreciate it!

    ps4playstation4

  • is there a way for it to alert u that u have a new sms...i have a motorola droid btw

  • @malvadolokote

you should see a sms alert icon on the task bar when you receive new messages.

  • ok i got it =]...i hate that it takes a while before u know u have a new SMS =[

  • ANDROID!

  • and yes, you can access your google voice from ANY regsitered phoen... E.g. if you registered your cellphone number in google voice, then every time you call your google voice number from your cellphone you can place a call, listen to your voicemails, etc... Hence, the strategy mentioned below can work for virtually any phone! But Android's integration is the best so far!

  • Actually you can access your google voice from ANY registered OR UNREGISTERED phone. simply call you google voice number from ANY phone and press * while ringing and you'll be asked to enter your pin and you're in.

  • You can save a lot on Domestic calls - if you have a tmobile my faves plan, just have the google voice number as your "fave"... here you go, free domestic calls! :)

  • so wait, your original phone number calls your google number which in turn calls the number which you were trying to originally call?

  • Kudos to Google for sticking it to AT&T and their butt buddy, Apple!

  • I can't use this in the Netherlands, so this application is just useless for me

  • with fusion -it could- be based on infinite feeding lux

  • loved the review , although i threw my android in the bin, its too complicated, iphone rulzz. but the review was awesome..

  • G1s FOR THE WIN!!

  • Yes, but it is annoying to have to get in the internet every time you want to use it. Also, what if you don't get internet in some areas (but do get service).

  • tmobile is shitty as hell...

  • I wnt google voice in canada

  • take that iphone :)

  • thanks
