At 16, I'd have done the same thing. However, since stupid shit like this has happened to me so many times in my life, if it happened to me today, the moment I see the 2 girls asses come back into the house, I would immediately start shouting the girls' name and ask if anyone's home. Then they hear me and either grab their towels, or they normally ask what I'm doing there. And I would say the door was open. Sure there *might* still be an argument, but at least there's no embarrassment.
