  • I really think that the late 70s and 80s has such great melodic rocks songs. Such great writing and sound. Today's music is rubbish, most of it.

  • On the RTB tour was the best performance version of Xanadu...I only wish they didn't cut it short for Superconductor.

  • O RUSH SEMPRE ESTEVE A FRENTE DE SEU TEMPO....ESSSA MÚSICA É A PROVA DISSO...TOCAVAM ESSA MÚSICA NA DECADA DE 70 E ESTAVAM 500 ANOS NA FRENTE DOS OUTROS NAQUELA ÉPOCA....E HOJE AINDA CONTINUAM.

  • Probably my fave from Rush...it really takes you to another time and place!

Thank you for uploading this live masterpiece! Music was never better than in this era, in my view, not that there aren't great bands today, but not quite as mind-blowing and theatric.

  • Probably my fave from Rush...it really takes you to another time and place!

Thank you for uploading this live masterpiece!

  • Neil Peart is the reigning diety of percussion, Alex Lifeson is talented surely but not 2 the same degree befitting reverance, IMO. My god is Jesus~All be well!!

    :o)

  • BAD ASSS

  • Speaking of odd.-- On the most recent DVD, Alex uses the 6-string on the doubleneck to play historicaly 12-string parts. I was shocked that it actually sounded really good ! I would still prefer the 12 though.

  • @twostrokeornill1 yeah I definitely noticed that as well, was surprised to see him using the 6-string neck.

  • @twostrokeornill1 Its all the new gadgets musicians have to play with.... I seen his petal-board. there is a sound patch that emulates the sound of a 12 string. plus can you imagine the logistics and extra security of traveling with such vintage instruments? just a single neck Les Paul from the 70's is worth 2,600.00 + in mint condition. and weather has an impact on performance of these older instruments, better to leave them for studio use .

  • I think he was using mainly Korg(bass pedals deffo) and Roland synths. Not my cup of tea,he might have binned all the analog stuff in favour of machinery that wouldn't need fixing all the time.

  • Does anybody know which synthesizer Geddy Lee used for this tour? I love that sound at 5:13.

  • favourite album by rush anyone i like presto i heard from so many people they hate presto and i would like to heard from good rush fans i have all their albums downloaded but only because i can't find them and i don't like buying them from those cheap mp3 sites but if i found the cds i would and do pay for them so when i can find themi have listened to them all fully back to back so i have a good rush memory most of them are good to listen to by themselves, only that song, not with another

  • @adamj0001 presto is a good album the album i like the least is power windows but i can never say i hate a rush album but my fav albums are from rush to signals but the best is hemispheres kings and 2112

  • @zackjp Come on now... Moving Pictures and Permanent Waves are by far the greatest RUSH albums.

  • @SciMasterGeneral I think 2112 and Caress of Steel are.

  • better than the Beatles, the stones the Who, and whoever else you can name. The greatest band ever.Epic.

  • I saw them back in 1979 in Dallas tx OMG!!!!! People were in AWE !!!!!

  • Goosebump inducing!

  • one of the best bootlegs on youtube

  • one thing i will always regret in mylife! neva seen rush live:(

  • My poor, poor boy. Before you die you absolutely must see them. Period. Or you will not die happy.

  • @ThurstonGHowell3rd

iyeah they came to canada and i heard bout it on the day my friend brought the tickets and told me the lign up but i missed it

i want to go back and see them all the way along from the start like in the bars

    that would be too awesome

  • I saw them on RTB and Test for Echo and was praying they would play Xanadu. They were still awesome shows, tho.

  • the part at 4:03 literally gave me goosebumps when i saw rush play this on their RTB tour. i don't know why...it's nothing cosmic, but the whole vibe to me is otherworldly...just fucking unreal.

  • It's what RUSH is ALL about man!! Rock on Brother!! \m/

  • Comment removed

  • Go Home Zeppelin!

  • Unfourtunately - this was one of my LEAST favorite Ungerlieder stage set-ups. It looked super complex and I think the effect he was going for should have been cool...with the risers opening up...but, for me, it just did not work. Anyone agree? Disagree? Discuss amongst yourselves..But, The Red WAL...AMAZING!!!!

  • Was this around the time period where Alex started using PRS guitars?

  • Love Geddy's Wal Bass in this video! Just gorgeous! Too bad Wal no longer makes basses!

  • My favorite rush song to see live. When they play the full intro.

  • This brings back memories - I saw Rush at the NEC on this tour. Awesome.

  • i hope they add this to the setlist of the next tour

  • @jesse1291 i hope they play some good old stuff in the next tour like vital signs

  • They look like they are having so much fun up there.

  • haha love Pearts shades.

  • I saw RUSH 4/23 in Austin. It was the best concert that I have ever been to. 2 1/2 hrs of pure excellence.

  • when people say "getty rules"........ this is what i have to say to that :the whole is greater than the sum of its parts....

  • this song gives me goossebumps...I saw them on the moving pictures tour.......like just hearing the opening of this song being there ..exciting

  • Geddy rules!

  • AHHH!!! Do you have superconductor?

  • 5:13 Chills

  • oh lord... i love them so.

    geddy is amazing: he's my favourite artist, such a good singer, such an AWESOME bass player, and add those goddamn keyboards... I'd like to be 1/100 like him ;_;

  • 2:47 Chills

  • The funny thing about this one is that Alex Messes up. He cuts the Intro short and goes into the main part of the song to early @ 1:52 Luckily Niel is a real pro and just followed along. @ 2:10 you can see Geddy telling Alex that he messed up and you can see them laughing about it!!! No harm no foul I guess -- They're only human.

  • Neil Peart is a drum God.

Alex Lifeson is a Guitar God

    Geddy Lee is God's God.

  • That sounds so fuckin right man! Hahahaa

  • wow... thx for pointing that out -.- i would've went my whole life believing they were if u didn't say that...

  • Thank you for posting this! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!

  • Alex used only PRS guitars on this tour.

  • That is so funny! Alex messed up the begining, cut it short. Geddy came over to tell him he messed up. Nothing you can do but laugh it off now. Good thing Neil followed his lead.

  • Getty is using a Wal, and Alex is using a Paul Reed Smith.

  • Best group ever to walk on a stage.

  • there was a Rush band in Australia, 1970's band I believe, have never seen this Rush band before..

  • both geddy and alex should of used there doublenecksin this song like if geddy used his rickenbacker 4080 and alex used hid gibson EDS 1275

  • i think peart just transcended into heaven at that one part 'know what i'm sayin? and where were the birds? but seriously cantaloupe owns honeydew.

  • im suprised how many people in my school dont know who Rush is! thank god i know who they are, they rock!

  • yeah most people dont know rush, they are a canadian band. rush is my favorite band!

  • They are the biggest cult band in the world.

  • great videos man, thank you

  • your an idiot

  • I haven't read all the comments so I'm not sure if this has been posted before. But they started the song too early. It accentuates 8 times, not just 4.. That's a bit of a shame since Peart's intro-fills are absolutely amazing..

  • Haha, were Geddy and Alex having a conversation at the beginning?

  • They were talking about how they fucked up the intro. During the laser part they didnt do the full segment leading into the first verse.

  • swerve past 72a

  • pananace, passion pur, cog my jew or jentile liquiid face, Okonkwo's Family:Okonkwo

A great farmer and warrior and who achieved one of the highest titles in the clan through hard work and commitment to the community.

  • Things Fall Apart.

  • xanadu is awesome as is rush they are gods n i hope theyll be inducted into the rock n roll hall of fame cause no band deserves it more than these complete musicians we love u rush derek.

  • Bass line was different but he pulled it off!

Xanadu is the best song ever.

  • SUPER MASTERPIECE...... THE END

  • Best Rush song ever. Just seen them at MEN Arena. Brilliant but no Xanadu. Gutted.

  • have to agree with last comment. best song ever ! :)

  • The greatest Rush song evah!!! :-D

  • this is the first time I've seen this version...amazing, neither of them have the double-necks. Still sounds great for what it's recorded on.

  • I saw them when they played their "Roll The Bones" tour in 1992. Seems like so long ago. Would love to see them again now. FOREVER RUSH!

  • I saw them on this tour...hard to believe these guys are still going

  • I just saw these guys a few months ago, they are so awesome. And Xanadu has to be one of the best Rush songs ever.

  • just saw rush live in chicago, amazing show, definitely one of the best bands around

  • 1 FRICKEN WEEK!

  • see you september 22nd!

  • Since 17 years I have liked their music. And soon first time ever they are going to give a concert in my country in Finland on 29 Oct 07. Got the tickets.

  • SEEING THEM TONIGHT, IN LIKE 10 MIN I'M LEAVING TO GO!!!

Best band ever. Rush will always live on!

  • I'm seeing um in a week. My 7th show!!! My first was 20 years ago. THis was my first rush song I learned on a guitar. Rush rules!!

  • I'm seeing them in Indy in a fuckin' week! Huzzah!!! Too long to wait. I've been waiting for five motherfucking months for this show. Enough is enough. I still have a week of school to get through but... It should be more than worth the wait.

  • i wouldnt miss these guys for the WORLD!! id buy a ticket before id have to pay my rent...4 days.... thats all i can say.

  • This was probably the best stage set up. the way the sides go up, in zebra! And the then, they open up!

  • Dear sweet fucking jesus look at Alex's hair! What was he thinking?

  • Saw them at the Hemisfair Arena in San Antonio for this tour, with Primus opening. That was one extraordinary mullet Alex was sporting back then. This brought back some memories. Thanks!

  • I was on this tour,in Paris France....at Le Zenith with Primus open

  • tight

  • were the fuck the other one go basterds what a good vid

  • These guys are an enigma. No one has ever mixed so many styles of music and made it work so well, especially with a 3-man band.

  • Yeah, unfortunately for us, they haven't played Xanadu in it's entirety since the 81' ESL tour. Still any piece from it kicks ass!

  • dude what happened to the xanadu video of the moving pictures tour??? the video was removed and it pissed me off.... still this one is good

  • Awedome Video!

  • I thought Geddy used a double neck for this song too, top half bass, bottom half electric guitar

  • He did in the golden days. He used to play rhythm guitar during the guitar solo at the end. I think he retired it before the New World tour (Signals...or was it Cygnus...not it was most definitely not..ceilings unlimited...DODLIDEE should watch yU0R every m0ve.)

  • Didn't Geddy use a Wal on Show of Hands, or am I mistaken?

  • probably not a Wal-mart bass .. you show should have seen all custommers show of hands trying to get a grip on the show of hands show cd on rebate... sorry im drunk rush are gods

  • hahaha

  • yeppers.

  • The golden years of my life. Thanks so much for posting!

  • That looks like the "Roll The Bones Tour" around the time I last saw them.Has it really been 15 years!?

  • fuckin gr8!!..dig rush!!

  • Yo XD, do you have the CP tour Xanadu from MSG anywhere?

  • it's a pity it just ends when they start playing another great song! anyway, 'xanadu' is great :)

    ('superconductor', too.)

  • you probably meant the greatest not great or the great test or the grade test....(sic) super conduct them not super conduct her i must probably misred.. sorry

  • This is Geddy's 3rd Wal bass and the one I think is most attractive out of his 4. 24 fret Mach II body style, red stained birdseye maple with gold hardware. Last used on the Roll the Bones tour which this video is from. I saw this show in Hartford Conn and it was just awesome.

  • Geddy should use that bass on this year's tour. Or, he could just donate to me.

  • Geddy has pretty much become a Fender Jazz Bass man all the way now. Would even be cool to see him bring out the Rickenbacker one last time but I think he retired that permanently.

  • no, he uses it on "a passage to bangkok" currently.

  • Yep, you right. Spoke to soon. Saw them in Jones Beach on July 2nd. The crowd went ape shit when he brought it out for Bangkok including me. I liked some of the new vocal phrasing he used on the older material. i.e. Passage, Circumstances...

Man, what a great show, huh?

  • hell ya. i've seen roger waters, billy joel, aerosmith, Iron maiden, and NONE OF THEM came close to the show rush put on.

  • Saw them at Verizon Wireless in San Antonio for this tour. This was one of my favorites of all time. So glad we get them all to ourselves with no opening act now, so they can do 3 hours of old & new! GREAT show!

  • i saw the same show

  • Hasn't got the double neck, but that blue PRS is a beauty, as is the Wal that Geddy is playing.
