In one episode, Eden's mom literally said, "You're being a brat, plain and simple." I think it's wrong for a parent to treat his/her kid like that. If I ever have a daughter, I won't let her enter these things. It gives the wrong message of what girls should be doing. Working hard in school and going to college? Nah, she's just gonna be a model when she grows up! Glitz pageants are being shown because they are controversial. There are many pageants where glitz is banned, tlc would never show those because it isn't controversial and they don't promote beauty but confidence and inside beauty, not only that but the importance of better yourself and the world. I hope the agent can harness Eden's mother's ambitions into something more productive. Sure, Eden's cute, but you don't need to be in pageants to get into modelling. She could invest in acting, music or dancing lessons. Better yet, put the money into a first class education for secondary and tertiary/ professional training. Famous children rarely become famous adults so if you really must push your kids it's better to think long-term.

Glitz pageants are being shown because they are controversial. There are many pageants where glitz is banned, tlc would never show those because it isn't controversial and they don't promote beauty but confidence and inside beauty, not only that but the importance of better yourself and the world. I have never seen a non-glitz pageant on tlc, yet there is alot of them, they just aren't controversial.

The pageant that you are looking at is a glitz pageant so yes they are using make-up. I hope the agent can harness Eden's mother's ambitions into something more productive. Sure, Eden's cute, but you don't need to be in pageants to get into modelling. She could invest in acting, music or dancing lessons. Better yet, put the money into a first class education for secondary and tertiary/ professional training. Famous children rarely become famous adults so if you really must push your kids it's better to think long-term.

When a kid is forced to succeed in order to compensate for a parents failures, she’s lost her childhood.
