@GTnumber1 There's always a faster car out there. Even Maserati's can't break into the 12's...but numbers only matter at the track (for the most part). If I had a choice to buy a used S6 4.2 and an Altima SE-R the choice would obviously be the Audi. I'd rather roll up to...well...anywhere in an AWD Audi with a growling V8 than a 3.5L Nissan. I've owned Nissans, Infinitis, Audis, etc...and German luxury is tough to beat.

@Kartoffelsuppe30 das meinst du nur wegen dem hohen drehmoment aber ab 100 geht der s6 wirklich gut... 2 tonnen + automatik + quattro sind halt ne schlechte mischung um gut vom fleck zu kommen.

bis 100 nehmen die sich alle nicht viel....da kommt jeder 2.0 tfsi hinterher

@HwieHater was? ok 2 tonnen sind schlecht für die beschleunigung aber automatik und quattro ist das beste um vom fleck zu kommen.. keine handschaltung schaltet schneller als eine automatik und durch den allrad gibts auch keine durchdrehenden reifen.

@CIKO32123 Das hat nix mit Audi allgemein zu tun. Die alten V8 in D11 und C4 klangen extrem gut, die alten R5 in C3, C4, B3, B4 und im 200er klangen auch sehr toll.

Erst seit dem A8 D2 und A6 C5 klingen die V8 seltsam, nicht nur leise, sodnern auch ohne dieses typische V8 Hämmern. Mein Mercedes V8 im E420 derzeit ist auch leise, klingt aber normal hämmernd und leicht bollernd nach V8.

Actually the audi s6 4.2 is not very fast for its hp rating. i consistenly beat my friend in his 2003 audi s6 /sedan) with chip in my 2003 540i..its a VERY heavy car

very interesting! i've got an audi s6 (4.2, May 2000) with a manual gearbox - in the first gear it only goes up to 50 km/h... have you done sth. to its gear? otherwise the gear between automatic and manual would realy be completely different (exept mine is a manual and yours a automatic :-)

For starters it has an dry curb weight of just over 4,000 pounds ( 1,825kg ). The car ( 99-03 ) will do 0-62 Mph in 5.7 seconds. Just cause this guy can't do it in that time, doesn't make the car slow.

Yeah, the early ones were all red, then white numbers red pointers, I forget the year it changed though. This is the S6 though so it has the "S" gauges- gray face with red numgers and white pointers.
