For years I used an old looped CD ripped to MP3 of "Carmel By The Sea", via my iPod or iBook through the stereo audio out jack to my speaker system. If you keep a set of speakers above your bed on either side it works great. But this is better...

I got White Noise free (including all the extras w/update) and it's awesome! I slide the iPod Touch under my bed connected to my stereo's long audio cord.

Best of all: Thunder, Ocean, Wind, Air, Crickets, and when it's cold out, Fireplace.
