I just ordered to program online to go along with my weightloss surgery so that I don't the "sagging skin" so I really hope it works. I had my surgery in November of last year and I've already lost 80lbs but I'm hoping P90X will kick it up some and help me to tone up while losing weight. I was at 320lbs the day of my surgery and I'm at 240lbs now :) I just hope I can do the workouts being a bigger guy...lol. *crosses fingers*
@MrKilminster Several of my friends have had their teenage sons and daughters do the program. I think it would be just fine, but of course, it's always best to ask your doctor.
@brknspacebar It definitely is tough and changes any thoughts you had about yoga prior to P90X. Tony Horton does have some shorter versions of yoga available. Send me a message if you want the link.
@brknspacebar I bought the p90x and was blacking out (woke up 3/4 the way down). Nurse (retired family member) told me to quit before I hurt myself. Since I was seeing improvements, should I play it by ear just taking it easier when I feel dizzy and finnish? Or should I wait several months until I have to money for a personal trainer? natey491@yahoo
@pecknathan491 That is a question you should really ask your doctor. There are way too many unknowns to even start to answer that. When in doubt, call the doc.
@skullkiller123 Well, you could adapt the diet to your own needs. I'm not a big fan of veggies that's why I use the perfect companion to P90X >>> Shakeology. Get all your veggies in the form of a chocolate shake. You can find it on my website. Send me a message if you would like more info.
@IluvJesus610 That's not me in the video, so unfortunately I cannot answer your question. I was just showing and example to people of how you don't have to already be in decent shape to succeed with P90X. I can say that after losing that much weight, building muscle is a great way to lessen the amount of excess skin because it stretches the skin in different places. This amazing guy's name is Tommy Mygrant if you want to find him on Facebook. Maybe you will be able to ask him your ?
ok uhh firts im 15yo 5'11 290lbs and no i aint lieing how long you think it will take me to get to 250lbs?ps i cant do a half of a pull up so how wauld that work???
@adamsfamlie The answer depends on a ton of different variables but if you follow strictly you can lose 1-2% of your bodyweight each week. Granted, you might not lose that much right away as your body builds muscle (more dense) and sheds fat. Fitness is marathon not a sprint and losing weight to rapidly is not the answer. P90X and most sensible plans take this into consideration. I would recommend the P90X lean schedule for your goals.
i want to see my abs and see my muscle, but i think im to FAT for that. Im 225, 5"10 and im 14 years old....i am fit, but it dosent look it. I do kickboxing and BJJ. but thats not showing me any results. SO for p90x should i do the "lean" first? or should i do "classic"? or "doubles"? please give me a guideline bro.
@TheHardTruth313 If your main goal is weight loss, then you can start with the "Lean" schedule and then hit "Classic" once you are ready to add some muscle mass.
@TheHardTruth313 well im 15 last april I weighed 205 lbs im 5"11 and I just kep't researching p90x and I just thought im ready for a change but then id think I wouldn't do it once I did it once but, after you do it for about a month its just second nature, and if you run some music its fun, its awesome to push yourself, and now im not ashamed to take my shirt off at the pool, or play with my friend's, and im just a stronger, better and much happier person after using p90x im on round 2 go for it!
@BigGMoney52 If your main goal is to lose weight, I would start with the "Lean" schedule. I just posted it on my website under "Fit Tools". I'm here if you need me.
im getting the p90x :D im tired of being the fat ass in the room lol thanks for posting the ved, this is what i needed lol what do i need besids the dvd's to start the program?
@shadowx7og Good for you! You will also need a set of resistance bands (unless you have dumbbells) and the chin-up bar. The DVDs and the equipment are all available on my site and I would really appreciate it if ordered from there! Plus, that would make me your official coach and I will be able to make sure you stay on track.
This is not me in the video. I am a Team Beachbody coach and this video addresses one of the most common questions I get, so I put it on my channel. P90X is designed for people who are already in decent shape so I often recommend "Power 90" first but this vid proves it can be done with modification and determination. To answer your question, you will increase the weight/resistance as your body adapts and becomes stronger. You always want the last 3 reps to be very difficult.
This was what I was looking for. A guy as fat as me who did the program. Now I can see what I can reasonably expect from the program. Thanks! I did a couple of the dvds already, just to familiarize myself with the format and pace, but I'm going to start the program proper tomorrow after work.
That's what I was hoping would happen by posting this video. As a P90X coach, lots of people have contacted me thinking they are too out of shape to do the program. It is intense but it can be modified to fit virtually any level of fitness. Do your best and forget the rest!
Good to hear! If you do not have P90X yet, please get it on my website. There is a link in the video description. This will make me your official coach. Thanks and bring it!!!
