I love this video, I love this song and how John sing it is real, wow.. special, he always felt his music from deep down in his heart and it's totally credible how he expressed those feeling, epecially about nature. LOVE IT.. REST IN PEACE.....
Thanks for that video, I was one of the two camera operators on this shoot and it is great to see this old footage. I think it was 1993 and we also shoot with Robert Urich.I am still shooting outdoor fishing and hunting shows in Alaska. johnnyfishboy@cox.net
Yes Anna and her hubby Jaimie Hutter started a bed and breakfast in the southern part of New Zealand a few years after they married- they've probably been there for 4 or 5 yrs now- the Wanaka Stoneouse Bed and Breakfast. You can look at it online. They had gone there on their honeymoon and I guess loved it so much decided to move there a few yrs later.
I THINK there were a series of fishing specials that were done over a few years time- this one, the one from Alaska, and the one from South America with Zak in it. He apparently did a series of fishing shows- not just one show- if you are asking if all these were all on one show- they were not from what I have read- if that answers your question.
thanks for posting this of my idol JD I have never seen this footage of him can u post more from this video? Those overall wit the sirt and vest and hat are a little strange to see John in but I love him anyways
I am so very sorry I gave the wrong date. I even played my dvd of the show before I answered. I must have been tired. The copywrite is for 1996, not 1976 like I said previously
THANKS camoperator- these are great. I had just questioned about them being from '76- the earring gave it away!! I figured from the mid '90s. The one with Zak on YT is GREAT as well.
John made 3 videos for Fly Fishing the World. He did 1 in New Zealand and 2 in Chili. I have this one and the second episode in Chili where he caught a 32 lb brown trout. Then after he died, they did a remembering John episode that was wonderful. You could really tell the people of that show reallly loved John. I would love to get the 3rd show for my collection. These were filmed in 1976
Are you SURE this is from '76- JD's wearing an earring which he didn't wear in the '70s- not until about '94 or so. And the hair doesn't look from the 70's either. Just curious pbrfan1.
Wonderful clip!!! The man could sing the phone book - and they would come to listen!! YEP - he had the goods and we were lucky to have heard him for all those years!!!
Well- since he's wearing his earring- it would have to be after '93 or so- not earlier than that. I'm guessing probably '96 or '97 from the way he looks. He really looked good that last year or so- looks very good here I think. The last few yrs. he looked better than he had in some time after the 2nd divorce in the early '90s.
Thanks so much for this post. I grew up in the mountains of Colorado, listening to JD's music and fishing for trout in his beloved streams. Brings back those "childhood" memories. Putting it on my "favorites" list right now. -trouttrek-
