  • Is it selfish to be thankful that Masta Ace never "made it"? Fuck it, at least Ace stayed real to hip hop, and didn't sell his soul to a major label.

    R.I.P. Hip Hop

  • @DaMuzikFreek Hip Hop's only dead if you don't believe anymore. As long as there's a single real MC and a single listener, Hip Hop is alive and well. If it died most crews wouldn't survive the smell.

  • @CareyboBarry You got it the other way around, Masta Ace is the one who got his from Eminem. This album came out AFTER Eminem was famous.

  • @RKOunion lololololololol masta ace came from da late 80s. he used 2 b in da juice crew wit kool g and big daddy kane. eminem was influenced by ace. ace was influenced by rakim. rakim was influenced by kool moe dee. kool moe dee was influenced by melle mel. im not sure who influenced melle mel.

  • This is Awesome ,Why is this the 1st time listening to Masta Ace ! ...DamnnN!

  • Em actually admitted he bit off this guys style a bit, but I think after Disposable Arts Ace bit a little off em actually. It's kind of ironic.

  • yeah whats the sample...heard it before in anothre song

  • Masta Ace INFLUENCED Eminem

''Eminem mentions Masta Ace as one of his influences in his book ‘The Way I Am’, saying, “Masta Ace had amazing storytelling skills – his thoughts were so vivid”.''

  • @blah350 So? We are still gonna come in here and arbitrarily bitch and argue over who is better. That is what this is all about, right?

  • @SillySantaHat well no not really in my opinion what i said was a reply to what illvizions1 said, and to everyone debating who is better or who is a true artist

i'm just saying what em said

and i think both artists are great anyway

i'm not gonna argue about who is better because i just simply cant be asked

  • Syl Johnson, syl Johnson, Syl johnson... man crazy asss beat!!

  • Ace is a true artist unlike eminem who was ill at the time until he sold his soul to the industry, but anyway, Ace is the original cat mixing it up when hip-hop was sprouting roots. He is one of many true charactors around in hip-hop.unlike eminems which has become progressively worse over the years.comsume bad music and support''artists''that don't even write thier own music with horrid beats& display no relative meaning in thier songs whatsoever besides occult symbolization & product placement.

  • lol em bit off this niggas style any niggas who listens to both should know

  • eminem is the best i think ive heard a lot of american and german rap....but since encore i dont like him that much....not a lot good rapper get main stream look at masta ace he s gr8 in my opinion but in germany noone knows him...and too much bad rappers become famous like lil wayne i think the game is very sad

  • is he talking about Tarik of the Prince Paul album (Macula theory)?

  • Badass Way of Singing Your ABC's

  • While Eminem's newest music (not referring to this song) sucks for the most part, all of his albums before Encore were excellent examples of GOOD mainstream rap. Remember those days? When you could turn on the radio and maybe actually hear a good song?

Eminem's rap in this song isn't even that bad, it isn't great by any means, but it's better than 95% of the shit that comes out today.

  • @cypressnirvana You do know that Eminem isn't in this song right? Just thought i'd let you know...cuz it isn't Em, it's Ace.

  • @cypressnirvana srry pimpin em aint on this 1

  • @cypressnirvana

that aint eminem guy, idk why the fuck you would think it is...

  • @cypressnirvana this isnt even eminem

  • @notjohn100

    lol amen

  • @cypressnirvana

ya eminem aint in this song dude

  • @cypressnirvana lmao@Mainstream?? have you ever listened to a eminem album?? I mean actually listened to the words? There was never anything mainstream about him..Why you think he was banned from so many radio stations and tv?? Mainstream is morely clubby and about money..Em was murder, hate, rape, <<Just those 3 will never be mainstream,

  • Alphabet soup>Alphabetical slaughter

  • too much eminem talk... he sucks.

  • y is it on ebery ace vid people gota say him an em are on the same level. they ent at all there totally dif. i like both but depends what mood im in who i listen to ace is def real hip hop i love his mellow style

  • dood this song is SICK

  • lol look eminem does not copy him ace is just one of his influences they are both cool in real life and made songs 2gether theres no point in comparing them

  • Masta ace is eminems influence, without masta ace there is no eminem. Em is still sick tho, jus sayin..

  • @Raab321 not jus ace but nas and AZ also, Em did nas and AZ imitations on Infinite which is why that album wasnt well recieved by the masses but it was still dope

  • @Raab321 Without doubt early-Ace influenced Eminem (especially storytelling). But Ace's work from Disposable Arts (2001) onwards was definitely influenced by the Slim Shady LP (1999), his rhyme schemes and multies were very similar. obviously Ace had his own twist on it, but there was definitely influence both ways, strangely. Still, two of my favourite emcees ever.

  • @Raab321...Maybe so but ESHAM was and still is eminems main influence...

  • @Raab321 all they need to do is listen to "dont understand" and everyone will understand....

  • @TheMastaPlan yeah

  • @Raab321 he isnt ems main influence though so without ace there is em

  • @Raab321 nooo Nas is eminems influence listen to infinite...you can tell from that whole album

  • @401reppintime eminem said with his own mouth master ace is his influence

  • @Raab321 did em and masta ace know each other or somin?

  • @TheStfu1000 they did a song together with j-black called "hellbound" but he was just a big influence on em

  • @Raab321 your a fagget

  • @Raab321 Other way around, dipshit. Masta Ace got his 2001 and beyond rhyme style from Eminem. They flow nothing alike, and never have. Masta Ace is stop-and-start, bar-to-bar flow. Eminem's is nothing like that.

  • @Ricearoni80 fail, eminem even stated that masta ace was his influence, presumably from his first album (take a look around - 1990)

  • @AbstractVice False. Eminem NEVER stated that. EVER.

  • @Ricearoni80 Yes he did, both in a joint radio interview and his book "the way i am". I believe the exact quote from Eminem was "When I heard Masta Ace, like every time I would listen to him he would make me wanna rap"

  • @AbstractVice For the ten millionth time: He never said Masta Ace was an "influence." EVER. He said that exact same "made me want to rap" line to LL Cool J when he called into his radio program. He says that to every older rapper he comes in contact with.

Eminem didn't even know the lyrics to his verse on "Hellbound." Masta Ace, OTOH, did. Eminem barely talked about Masta Ace in his book. He mentioned about 80 rappers, and Ace was one of the least talked about.

  • @AbstractVice Eminem has also paid homage to dozens of rappers in songs, but never Masta Ace. He didn't mention Masta Ace on his "Till I Collapse" list. And Ace never rapped even remotely like him until 2001 (trying to copy Eminem's multi style, paying homage to his lines in Who Knew, borrowing from the Stan concept in "Dear Diary").

Notice how nobody is on any pre-2001 Ace tracks talking about Eminem...because Masta Ace sounded absolutely nothing like him back then.

  • @Ricearoni80 Eminem paying homage to other rappers as well is irelevant, people can have multiple influences. The point is that as Abstractvice said, Masta Ace was credited as one of them. The magnitude of the influence does not matter, the point is that Eminem acknowledges it is there. Now quit this ridiculously stupid argument once for all and agree that all rappers influence each other in some way or another. A rapper is a conglomeration of the work of others as well as their own self.

  • @heliosrayne Eminem has never used the words "Masta Ace" and "influence" in the same sentence.

Your last two sentences basically state that it's not even worth talking about. If all rappers influence all other rappers, why are people even talking about Masta Ace "influencing" Eminem? Why not talk about Masta Ace influencing Celph Titled and Common?

    Please.

  • @Ricearoni80 "When I heard Masta Ace, like every time I would listen to him he would make me wanna rap"

That quote alone from Eminem means that Masta Ace, in some way shape or form, motivated Eminem to rap i.e. he influenced him. People are simply stating that Masta Ace influenced Eminem, my statement says its possible that Eminem in turn influenced Masta Ace. He could have influenced Celph Titled and Common, i don't know, but a) this was not explicitly mentioned b) eminem is more well-known

  • @heliosrayne Jesus fucking Christ. Eminem says that about EVERY rapper when he's asked about him. He used the exact same fucking line about LL Cool J within a few weeks of that interview. It is an utterly meaningless line because it's his go-to line about any older rapper.

People aren't simply saying Masta Ace was one of 100+ rappers who Eminem liked, or who inspired him. They're flat-out making ridiculous claims about Eminem "getting his style" from Masta Ace, when it's the other way around.

  • @Ricearoni80 Just because he says it about a lot of people, doesn't necessarily mean he's making it up, it just means that he was influenced by a lot of people. I understand that some of the claims of "getting his style" are ridiculous, but I'm simply stating that Eminem acknowledged that Masta Ace was an influence. That's all I'm saying.

  • @Ricearoni80 Take it easy bro, just chill. All we be doing is chillin'

  • @Ricearoni80 check this out Eminem accepting the GRAMMY for Best Rap Album at the 45th GRAMMY Awards

  • hhahahaaha i love hw in the end the bitch shot em' ...lmaoo kooolll ...but yo this song is madddd dddoooppeeeee...creative tho'

  • Masta Ace is an O.G. , fuckouttahere with Eminem being on this level. Ace is the hood, he's been through shit like Eminem, but he doesn't complain about it cause he's a wise and headstrong man. That's wassup. Fuck negativity.

  • @80sproductbaby Yea yea, thats nice and all. But not everybody is a cold triple OG like Masta Ace lmao. Lots of people go through depression and its sometimes too much to handle.

So fuck you and your positivity.

  • @RealHipHopTunes yeah and Masta Ace changed his style to model Em's around 2001

  • @cshaw105 actually ace never changed, trust me i've been around ace since 1989, his style never changed, eminem said himself that ace influenced him

  • eminem better dan masta aceeee u fucking nuts me sure u na skinhead masta ace all day long fucker

  • i didnt really like it... its Cool but wen my friend told me about it... idk I just thought it was gonah be better =/

  • Ya Bekay is better/as good as Eminem was in his prime... In reality Bekay is way better than em of today, I'm sorry, back when Em came out I was a huge fan, I'm still a fan, just I don't see him making the same amazing music as before, he still makes good music though, just its not AMAZING like before...
