Watch NATEPERKINS TV SHOW There have been many videos I have produced over the years, where my heart has been literally torn-apart by the suffering that has been presented in them... and this video is no exception! For further information about the Horn of Africa Drought Crisis! Super Thanks Nate
Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. in (1959) New and March with USA President Barack Obama Father from Kenya and African Nationalist Thomas Joseph Mboya coordinated an "airlift" in 1959 of 81 Kenyan students to the USA to attend college.
When the forces of retrogression killed Mboya in 1969, this is what the then president of South Korea had to say: "By killing Tom, Kenya has gone back thirty years." Sounds ominous considering Kenya was at the same level of economic development with the Asian Tigers at that point time.
I keep telling people that there are way more Kenyan videos from the colonial era that they will not show on Kenyan TV. The stuff we got brainwashed with as kids during national holidays is a joke. If u live outside of Kenya, do your research. You'll be surprised as to how much footage is out there.!
@daniells71 do u know where i can find more of mboya videos?i know he spoke several times in new york, united nations and chicago in the sixties but i cannot find n videos.
@wesmonite Go to Syracuse University's Bird Library 6th Floor (Central NY); they have the largest special collection on Mboya: audio, audio-visual and text.
I cannot imagine Tom Mboya was collaborating with Dr. Martin Luther King!!!. Surely Kenya lost a hero indeed. My God,.... these two men died because injustice. People who kill men like deserve not to live,
@mrca360 Totally agree with you. Tom Mboya was a hero. Could we say he also contributed in bringing justice to America? Could this be something forgotten to be told to the world?
Because of Tom Mboya's effort "Air lift" United State was capable to have the the wise 44th President , Barack Obama. Tom Mboya helped President Obama's Dad to go to study ih USA. Do you know that Tom Mboya was the one who contacted the Kennedy family to support the Air lift that carried Obama Sr. No wonder the kennedys were behind Obama presidency 100%. Robert F Kennedy predicted Obama's Presidency when Obama was about 7yrs old. Thanks Tom Mboya you are the true Kenyan hero.

Mr. Mboya was a very progressive man; I remember reading about him. He had a lot of foresight regarding true pan-Africanism.

Some of the beneficiaries of the Mboya airlift were Phillip Ochieng', Hillary Ng'weno, and Wangari Maathai.
