  • @spillcom who does those really cool animations? And do you guys actually look like that?(not to be mean)

  • Why is there hate on a movie as good as this? If the white person is dumb, that's fine (forest gump) but if the black guy is dumb, we all throw a hissyfit? guys, the black to white ratio of the world is 50/50. there's no need to defend a race that already is part of the majority. Get over it, no one will think that every black person is like this.

  • I dont know anything about College Footy but I got the movie.

  • Oh bull! this movie was great. I actually put aside my sketch book during the first fiev minutes of the movie, & never picked it back up during ANY moment of the movie. I rarely EVER do that. High Mattinee

  • I First Saw This Film On A Plane To Vegas In April 2010. I Had Never Heard Of The Film Before Until I Saw It On The Plane. It Was Quite Good!

  • I don't think the movie was offensive, although I do think it sucked ass.

  • I think, love Sandra she's awesome, however I think this got an Oscar cause of Sandra and what it was about....

  • its weird that this movie was nominated for Best Picture, and yet it got a rental by spill...

    nuff said

  • omg at the end he ran for a BLACK LEXUS LOL X300000000

  • the black kid and the white lady fucked

  • I never found this offensive, I enjoyed the movie and hell even the movie brought up the possibility of this sort of self beneficial reverse racism, but honestly it was inspirational to see.

  • Of all the place to complain about white-centric movies, you people chose a movie that is based on a true story.

Really, people? White people are on the other end of racism now?

  • Press 6 reduntantly its like an indian pop song

  • @TheSpongebobgo TOMYHOMIETOMYHOMIE!

  • a black person would never do this for a black kid

  • it was boring for me i feel asleep on my couch when i wached it on dvd and ppl were to nice in this movie :P

  • Honest to god I really hate this whole "white hero bullshit" the guy in this movie was a total idiot even the real life guy this was based on said that he was poor but not stupid, it was cliche and predictable

  • It was a pretty good movie. But really pretentious and just cliche. Sandra Bullock was the highlight of the whole thing.

  • im sorry but sandra bullock wasnt that good

  • @SonofRa47 i hate to think what she did to get that oscar

  • Are you guys crazy?!! Full Price!!

  • I was surprised by this film. I thought it was going to be really corny, but it was well acted, well directed, well shot. I'd give it Full Price, only slightly under Better Than Sex.

  • That little kid was so annnoying he must be a damn good actor!

  • this movie is badass, saw it on kookic---wait, oh right, im not a fucking spammer, fuck kookica, its a virus, if you really want to watch the movie,,,, here's a hint,,,, BUY....IT.... crazy, i know, but hey, it works, and doesn't give you computer cancer

  • "Rare christian who has actually read the bible"

So shes a racist, sexist, hypocritical sociopath who promotes slavery. I didn't get that impression at all.....

  • The only thing that really bothers me about this movie is that it for some reason it qualifies as a "sports movie". Yes I know on the posters it shows him in a football uniform and he does play football in the movie but other than that it was just an element to help make the movie good. In reality it really has nothing to do with sports. Other than it's alright.

  • i swear, sandra bullok really reminds me of my favorite teacher, kinda want to fuck both of them

  • freedom writers = this movie

  • You know, I think the last movie where a white person was adopted by a black family was The Jerk! That was over 30 years ago!

  • this movies awesome

  • Hey, a big budget lifetime movie. Magical white people take in a slave.

  • They showed this at my middle school. I WAS SOOOOOO BORED!

  • @paperbutt2008 dude this is based on a true story and its acuttly very very good movie

  • "Rare christian who has actually read the bible" you mean the woman from the mist

  • dude i love this movie Full Price

  • I hate this "thank God for white people" movie. They didn't make Michael a more interesting character because the movie isn't even about him, it's about the wonderful white people who rescue this poor negro from the horrible life he'd have had instead. We don't need social programs, white people can just give hand-outs all the time! Get out.

  • @motorghost 100% correct. When I saw the commercials for this flick, I thought, oh lord, another "whitey saves the day" movie. Add in the fact that they had big dude act like he was borderline retarded. WTF!?

  • @motorghost I think it was more about how Michael Oher helped the family as opposed to how they helped him.

  • @motorghost we already do

  • @motorghost It's based on a true story... sooo it can't really be white propaganda, you know if it did actually happen

  • @motorghost kinda racist. white people kinda cool you know

  • @R2rGangstaFC Ugh. Maybe if Blacks lives weren't fucked up from being taken inbondage from their country whites wouldn't have to save anyone

  • @80spopQueen Yeah, if only we could turn back time and rectify that mistake...it's a gift that keeps on giving...

  • @bluemind423 Whatever man, Still the dirt of your people (along with the many others whites are rightfully responsible for)

  • watched that great film i love sj realy sad film

  • This looks like one of those movies which you can guess all the best parts out of just by looking at the trailer.

  • what does a black man have to do to get adopted by a rich white family

  • @shaintheman Let me see, a black man can be a very talented athlete or the next Michael Jackson.

    There you have it.

  • @eathenicus

    hahahaha, WiN.

  • Wasn't this nominated as Film of the Year (or what ever) at the Academy Awards?

  • @larsattack ...Sandra Bullock won an Best Actor Oscar...and typical Sandra...her husband is busted cheating.... proving you can be "too nice" once, too often.

  • what is with these guys and black guys i ean come on stop!!!!

  • @Banter1011 .... I think its done to ease the racial tension, and it clumsily increases it. Rather than play it straight up and appear P.C., they want to push the envelope.

  • Y'all so silly!

  • sandra bullock, yum yum yum

  • What other story tells the tale of a supressed negro who can only achieve his goals in life with the help of the white man?

    UNCLE TOMS FUCKING CANBIN!!!!!

  • @ThePsychicMantis you are aware that Uncle Tom's Cabin was a major catalyst for the anti-slavery movement, right?

  • @kimpeater1 .... I always thought the Protestant revival and British Abolitionist movements were the catalyst for the anti-slavery movement. Cabin was actually called "Life among the Lowly" by Harriet Beecher Stowe.

  • @ThePsychicMantis ...ordinarily, I would agree...but this was a very touching and real story...and to be honest. Michael Oher is a goon in real life...an absolute mauler on the field. Uncle Tom Cabin was played , but it is a real story....and there are adoptive parents, throughout America. Touching film, and a deserved Oscar. Predictable, but just a nice film.

  • @spicefaerie58 No; I ignore the whole damn book :D

  • If you think about it black people are more racist than white because they call eachother nigger but if a white person says it its bad also black people can call white people cracker and there is no consequence

  • @OoAMPEDoO So you have met ever black person who has ever lived and asked them if they call eachother the n word and they all said yes. Do you relize how stupid that sounds.I have not know(you know actually know someone personally instead of making quick judgements) a single black person that does that. Theres no slavery behind a food product, but that doesn't mean it is ok. There arn't 100% equal.

  • @DarkspideyTV i'm sorry bro, but these famous rappers are just proving otherwise. don't think that stuff like that will make people hate black people, this isn't islam. there are as many black people as there are white people, no need to defend it.

  • I loved this movie. It was funny and entertaining and based on a true story which makes it even better!

  • what da..dis was a great movie

  • sorry spill guys but this is full price movie

  • For the first time, i unfortunatly have to disagree with this review. The movie was at least a high matniee to a low full price. Honestly this review was not even a review, it was the spill crew bashing how offensive it was, and i frankly don't agree. There were a lot of great heartfelt scenes, and most of the actors were superb. did not just portray "oh look a white family takes in a big black kid." No, it portrays a women who could have been from any background who helps out someone in need.

  • I watched it online for free with my friend on new-movie. net

  • man putting the best joke at the ends of their vids is a clever way to get me to just view their other vids, good marketing

  • i dont care what anyone else says, i thought it was a great movie.

  • @dethklok831 I agree with you on that :-)

  • Offensive!? It's a true story! Good grief.

  • Why, oh why, was this movie Best Picture nominated?

I HATED that little brother actor kid. He was the most annoying child actor ever. And the sister gets two lines even though she DROPPED OUT TO MAKE SURE HE GOT THROUGH SCHOOL. Wow.

Also, WTF was with that "he got a 98% in Protective Instincts"? What tests are they giving these kids?

I didn't HATE this movie-Bullock did make this movie OK-but I'd give it a medium Rental.

  • They didn't even recommend it. They just gave their personal views and didn't say "Matinee"

  • @WatchMyAwesomeVideos Opinions...

They always give their personal views on every movie... its not like reviews are based on facts.....

  • honestly that review was awful. at least a full price in my opinion

  • if the filmmakers had attempted to 'spice up' the movie, like make it less predictable, it would probably veered away from the true story, which is what I came for. I didn't look for something to entertain me, I wanted the real thing.

They probably had to mix up the real story a bit to fit a movie's criteria anyways.

  • im sorry, but the movie is fine, but i hate f,,,,,,, sandra bullock !

  • what i really bothered me in this is why does sandra bullock have a southern accent and everyone EVERYONE else is talking without an accent.

  • FULL PRICE

  • I'm just gonna say

    Sandra bullok is hot

There I said it and what gowinna do

    Noting mon

  • LOL christian that actually read the bible , lives it....that'd be like finding bigfoot....

  • This was a shitty review with no respect for the story .

    Poorly done.

  • I really liked this film.

Sandra was definately! deserving for the oscar. I do however didn't like how they made Michael seem, like they said, an oaf, bcuz he probably wasn't.

He was suppose to be a lost soul, not a whole lot of education, and shelterless but not stupid.

I would give the film a high Matinee

    4/5

  • I like how Movie Bob put it "Erin Brockivich turns Radio into Rudy with magical white people powers"

  • some ol bullshit - another unnecessary sport drivel slush movie. Who cares?

  • Some ol'' bullshit!!!!!

  • caption fail

  • I don't think you can harp on a true story for being predictable, they're telling it like it is. *shrug*

  • The Blind Side (2009) - A- Perfect

  • "Rare christian who has actually read the bible"? You mean "who has cherry-picked which bible verses to obey and which ones to ignore".

  • @338dmac - lol. I am definitely using that one.

  • cherry picking from the bible is a must 338dmac. The bible has so many contradictions u gotta cherry pick.

  • @338dmac no he means the Christian that hasn't done that

  • @338dmac Dude, just shut the fuck up.

  • @yermom014 Normally I would at the very least want to know why someone would say something like that to me, but judging by your name and your demeanor I really don't give a shit what you have to say for yourself. Needless to say, I think I'll ignore you, and I think you can go fuck yourself.

  • @338dmac You're somewhat judging a book by its cover right here. Just because my name is stupid and obviously somewhat demeaning to you, doesn't mean I am stupid. I just felt offended by your comment and got sick of it. For all I care you can do a fucking pole 69 with a group of Athiests.

  • @yermom014 "You're somewhat judging a book by it's cover here"

"For all I care you can do a fucking pole 69 with a group of atheists"

Wow, and it only took you five sentences of text for you to become the biggest fucking hypocrite on the internet. Your name is in no way demeaning to me, rather it is demeaning to YOU. Furthermore, if you are allowed to tell people to "shut the fuck up" because you are "offended by comments", why am I not allowed that same privilege? Fuckin hypocrite.

  • @338dmac Something tells me that you're not very intelligent considering you managed to alter the fucking meaning of the word. I wasn't a hypocrite in any way.

  • @yermom014 Jesus, do I really have to spell it out for you? You criticized me for "judging a book by its cover". You then proceeded to pass judgement on me based solely on my "cover", i.e. my being an atheist. You know next to nothing about me, and you've decided to judge me based on the very little that you do know. You are doing the very thing that you accused me of doing. You are a hypocrite. So why don't you quit pretending to be so goddamn smart and apologize for being a royal cunt?

  • @338dmac That's every Christian. Let the flame war begin!

  • @338dmac If you go into the Bible expecting to find flaws in Christian ideology, you're going to find them. I've found flaws in the Torah and the Quran but I keep my fat mouth SHUT because I have no idea what context the are supposed to be applied in or how the words are supposed to be interpreted.

Cyrus is saying, and I agree, that she actually shows the compassion Christians were taught to show. I'm only giving my two cents because that comment riled me up, this shouldn't become a debate.

  • @338dmac because u know her enough to make taht judgement

  • @338dmac So true. And I'm Christian.

  • wait... so they bleep every "shit" and "fuck" etc, but they DONT bleep 4:32?

  • He said "Negro", not the "N" word

  • @EZnewby yeah he always does

  • @XOoAPEoOX

he said "Negroe" and even television doesnt bleep the word n**ger

    idk why...

lol at the beginning though they say "sandra bullock likes big dicks" and don't bleep it lol

  • should be full price to me

  • i have to disagree.

This movie was well done and Sandra Bullock does deserve the hype she is getting because she was that good in this.

Another thing is that you don't have to be a football or sports fan to be entertained by someone who plays football in the movie. It's not like football fans saw the trailer and was like "i think i'll go watch that since me play football"

That's ridiculous. That's like saying you have to know about being a pilot to follow the plot to Top Gun.

  • It was a well directed film, but maybe a little too long. But despite that, I'd give it a matinee.

  • And it's a strong matinee. F*** you guys for giving this film a rental!!!!!

  • the real micheal ore did not like how he was made to look stupid. he said he was homeless but not stupid.

  • A best picture nominee too

    god

  • Comment removed

  • @devilshomie

Yeah I know what you mean. Poor black person down on their look and a rich TOTALLY NON-RACIST! white person comes down from the heavens just to help this poor black person. I AM SICK OF IT!

  • These apes do a great job of re-enforcing the black stereotype. See a white women and a black man and the other black men think..Dick!

Thanks Spill, you jackasses just threw ur credibility out the window. Not to say you had much in the first place. Ur reviews do infact suck apart from the odd accurate one.

  • @crazyolme Fuck u ur Obviously the Hater of Blacks

  • For once, I want to see a beautiful well-rounded high class christian white family not be the butt of all jokes and see it as the most negative thing on the planet.

Especially when the christian woman/mother is willing to help and pull this low class poor kid out the streets of degradates and poverty. Be thankful to have individuals having enough respect for themselves to help others.

Instead of painting one white to a group. I am sick and tired of labels and promoting racial comments

  • Damn. Seriously? Rental? RENTAL?! Wow, just wow. Way to butcher a perfectly awesome movie. I can't believe I waited 3 weeks for what you HONESTLY thought. Now I'm not looking forward to your Ninja Assassin review.

Cyrus, stick to what you fucking know. If you don't know something then don't open your mouth and say something stupid.

  • I agree on all your reviews except this one. This movie is predictable because its based on a true story so how can it not be? It was a good movie it had a lot of heart to it and it showed how the life in the ghetto really is.

  • I totally agree. This is actually one of my favorite movies in history.

  • not everyone knows the story behind it, like me. So yes it is predictable.

  • don't watch then.

  • dont watch it if you dont like it

  • This Sandra Bullock movie was actually not hard to watch? suprising right?

  • some ole bullshit

  • I can't remember the last sandra bullock movie that was watchable. Why does this woman keep getting lead roles? Oh yeh, she's good looking :-D

  • Great job Spill crew you guys are picking fights that don't even exist. Saying that this film is semi-racist or offensive is as bout as smart as saying Resident Evil 5 is racist because some of your enemies are African, despite the fact the game takes place in Africa or Left 4 Dead 2 is racist because some of your enemies are Black, despite the fact that the game takes place in New Orleans. *SIGH*

FYI:The Main character is not retired or dead but is currently playing for the Baltimore Ravens

  • I didn't know understand what the big issue about this movie was at first. I mean, it's a true story. A wealthy white family happened to adopt a black kid from the slums. I was irritated that a good deed like giving this kid a home would be turned into a racial dispute, but I see now. I just watched the trailer and I couldn't definitely see were the issue is. The filmmaker gives this air of "this black kid couldn't count the toes on his left foot were it not for the family that adopted him."

  • Exactly Marvinmart5! Thats exactly what I mean!

  • I'll just say this. I doubt any black individuals will like this movie. This is strictly a movie for the Caucasians, lol. Nothing wrong with that though. I'd rather you all enjoy feeling sorry for black people and "taking them under your wing" then watching a video thats hatred filled.

  • Something about this movie offends me, but I can't really find the words to describe it. It makes it seem like the kid is a Toby. It kinda gives me that "Here boy. come here" type feel to it. Like the kid is a giant black pet. Its hard to really put it into words. There is just something about this flick that pisses me off.

  • yeah, like white people have to reach down to black people. The way she talked to him in the clip at 1:30, its like she's talking to one of her slave kids

  • I mean, I wouldn't take it that far. Its just that..its just feels like he's a Toby! Likes hes a poor little ignorant lost soul until the great white family comes in and saves him. I don't think the director meant it to be viewed like that, it just looks funny from a black persons point of view.

  • even mike said that he didnt like some way they portraid him he said he been playing football all his life but in the movie they had to teach him how to play football...i perfer not to watch the movie i would get mad too...i glad they helped him out....but if there so many movies about white people saving black people that i look at this movie the same way..dont mean to but i do

  • the leash could be the sequel

  • Look!! Another movie to watch in High School History class!!

  • yeah, another american-football movie. I can't get enough of those and Im not even American! :D

  • I can kind of see where people are coming from when they complain about these types of stories, and I'm far from PC.

If you've ever read the book "The White Man's Burden" you can sort of see the unintended racism in these types of stories, and understand why some people would be offended.

Me personally I just didn't think the movie was all that interesting or good, I didn't find it offensive though.

  • I always hear white-guys complaining about multiculturalism. My question is are there any white chics that will say they feel the same way or do they all provide equal opportunity?

  • Youre confusing two different concepts... but thats okay because u were joking.

  • I don't think so. Can you answer the question?

  • Only if theyre fat and fugly... otherwise most women like to be with men who have common traits.. thats nature... forget what u think u kno

  • Actually, I wasn't joking.

  • this movie for oscar , i loved it ......

  • You guys are funny!

  • I usually hate movies like this that talks about some athlete struggling to overcome some sad sh*t in their life and is usually tied with slavery and stuff like that. but this movie was great and i loved it.This is how they should do more black movies.

  • y'all are just some dumbass racist nigs i love black people but i hate nigs and you my friends are a couple of nigs who are just jealous of a fellow black man who came up from nothing and is now successful

  • what do you mean nigs? how can you love black people but hate nigs?

  • Black people....Work hard to Achieve. Nigs.....blame everyone but themselves for their situation....

Life is not Fair, and yes Racism has not gone away, but the will to Achieve can overcome great obstacles.

  • Can't argue with that. You sir , get a thumbs up.

  • I get what you're saying man

  • ha ha ha

  • its a good movie the reviews are wrong

  • why does everyone have to bring up skin color in everything

  • i know right?

  • I get sick of movies like this but I did still enjoyed it.

  • Coming from a foreigner's perspective I got to say that the ones that have always surprised me with their generosity and unselfish, hands on approach to helping others have been white people( specially the Christian ones) only a few hispanics and I can't think of any black ones lending a hand.

  • same ole white hero bs

  • im white...and were not that great, we wouldnt pick up a cracker

  • lol

  • well it was a true story

  • lmfao lol good comment

  • It all depends on your opinion, that is what reviewers give isn't it? Their opinion? I'm not disagreeing with you, I would have givin it a better rating myself. But I enjoyed the review all the same :)

  • 2:40 hahaha i didnt even realize when I was watching the movie.

  • thanks

  • dot com
