This song is about Anton LeVay..not about them losing their faith and finding "Satan". To be Agnostic or Atheist is not the same as a being a "Satanist". Even though Matt has a Church of Satan membership card...kind of like how Johnny Ramone had a KKK membership card. Both were probably done mostly for shock value.
