I'm not impressed. I did the very same thing, at a church in Speyer (DE) years ago, with a front-wheel-drive (not 4x4) truck (Talbot Matra Rancho) with three passengers on board in addition to myself. No problem at all.
Wow, seriously? It doesn't matter if that piece of crap is in high, low, 4wd, or 2wd. It doesn't have lockers therefore even in 4wd low you still only have two wheels driving unless you are on some really slippery stuff then it will spin possibly all four if that crappy lil motor could muster up the RPMs.
a vitara is made out of pop cans i fucking droped a lader on one and crused the roof in, and asurais have soild front axel and leaf springs not and locking hubs from factory id say samurai fucking owns trackers
leaf springs suck, suzuki made vitara beacause samurai tipped over very nice, and auto lock hubs dont lock the diffs, they only deattatch the front wheel cubs from the front semi-axels
Ja też mam Vitarkę i jak słyszę że vitara to gówno to mnie huj strzela mam silnik 2,0 V6 138 koni benzynka odpowiednie opony i asfalt wyrywa niedługo dodam kilka filmików to zaprezentuje , pozdrawiam jako fan Vitar .
No..they're driving slow so it's fine to have in 4H or even 4L (though 4L shouldn't be necessary for those stairs). The reason the T case is labeled is because you could lose control or dry surfaces in 4wd. The're not going fast enough to lose control...
I love my '01 vitara 2.0..she goes way better places than stairs LOL... seriously is there no bush where you live?
when he's climbing you can barely hear the engine and it climbs with no drama at all, no wheel slippage, no nothing. that means it's in 4wd LOW. correct? but then, how could he steer so much after climbing?? was he in 2wd? he does have MT's and the steps aren't big but still :)
but still there would be transmission wind-up which causes heavy steering, a wheel would slip to relieve it, and eventually, if you pushed it, a broken u-joint... but he's not going fast, prolly that's why we can't see any of those symptoms
anyway, kids, dont drive in 4wd low (or high, for that matter) on hard, grippy surfaces! (like it says right there near the t-case lever :) )
@mrJv2k7 Yeah, I used my low gears to win from a Range Rover at the stoplights. Well.. I had to pull over at 60 miles par hour or so and everything was totally stuck.. x') But I won from that British piece of crap! Oh yeah, I drive a Samurai. :D
@8Adrian9 did u get it installed yourself ..I mean is it a custome made diff ? Or you dont even know that sidekicks dont have central diff. but transfer case. mrjv2k7 knows what he is talking about. He means you can not steer sidekick without risking your transfer case cos all 4 tires rotates same soo steering is just trouble and hard if not on gravel or snow.... soo the same question again... u have a custom made central diff ?

I always think that grand vitaras are underrated compared with toyotas or land rovers, great cars...

It's 4wd low, but there is also a differential gear. No differential-lock.

thought so too, car looks bone stock.
